Constant power wire at the bed

Where can I tap into a constant 12v hot at the bed? Trying to avoid running a wire from the battery. Any help is appreciated

Could run a wire off of parking lights power source.

Wouldn't those lights have to be on than for the source to give power?

Trailer hitch 7 way round plug should have a constant hot in it.

I'll have to get the test light out tomorrow and check. Will this effect the brake controller at all by tapping into the power?

I don't believe there is a 12 v constant on the trailer plug and yes it would only run with the lights turned on

Okay thank you. I'll just run a new dedicated line from the battery. Take a bit longer but will eliminate having to worry about anything.

Travel trailers use a constant 12V "battery lead" from the plug to keep the on board battery alive. This is available at all times, not just with the lights on. Here is the general wiring diagram. See the red/black fused battery lead on the truck end.

eTrailer.com says to use a meter to make sure of the pins as different manufacturers use different colors, but here is a better look at the 7 Way plug. The 12V is black in the center diagram for travel trailers.

There is constant 12v at the 7 pole trailer hitch.

Bought this converter to cigarette outlet for accessories and it is hot whether the truck is on or off.

I just ran a designated set of hot and ground from the battery. Slid it into 1/4" loom. Didn't take long.
