maggot
Here is something I have been thinking about. You have the choice between two trucks. Same price, same configuration, same mile. THey both look clean. Lets say they have 100,000 miles. This is all you know. #1 truck has had the syn oil with extended drains. Lets use what this Amsoil dealer told me. 25,000 miles changes. Everything is recorded. # 2 truck had been serviced by the dealer and had bulk oil put in her at the "Old fashioned" 3000 mile or 3 month . Evrything is recorded. Which truck would you buy? BlueRado
#2 but only because #1 has head extended oil change periods and apparently no known history.

SilveradoWV
#2 Because that sounds like me except for the bulk oil part. I only use Castrol GTX.
Black02Silverado
#1 or #2 will do. As long as the records for #1 show that the oil was changed at either 25k or 1 year which ever comes first, also that they can show me that they changed the oil filter every 3k using a standard AC oil filter or 12,500 miles or six months using an Amsoil oil filter. I would also like to see their oil analysis sheets for each oil change. What some Amsoil dealers do not tell you is that you need to do the analysis if you extend the drains to 25k. Every engine is different, everyone has a different driving style as well as different environments for different parts of the country. So the analysis can tell you a lot. If only life was in a perfect world, naaa then it would be to boring. Now I'm stretching things and adding a little to this but if the individual used synthetic in the engine more than likely they used it in the drive train as well and that would be an added bonus. :thumb:
