Gibson Headers?

Recommended Posts

I bought and installed the Magnuson MP1900 TVS Supercharger kit and American Racing Headers (1 3/4") with high flow Cats. After getting my PCM back from Magnuson and put back in the truck its now through codes for the Cats (P0420 & P0430). Called American Racing and the guy who answered the phone said it was my tune. So now I'm calling Magnuson on Monday or forking out more $$ and having Black Bear do their magic to see if they can retune everything and stop the Cats from throwing codes.

I knew that was coming from someone..

I just like my stuff to be nice and quiet, I use to put exhaust on everything I own. Guess I'm just getting old.

GM put a lot of effort in to making this truck nice riding and quiet. I love it!

But with headers and exhaust it would sound pretty awesome.

Haha to each their own. Thats whyyou have yours and i have mine. I have mud terrains so its not quiet anymore and i am still in the age where i want everything to have headers and exhaust haha.

OP, I had good luck on my last truck ('08 Avalanche) with the Edelbrock Ceramic shorties. Got a bump in low end torque, which was noticeable during towing. My truck was also tuned with HPTuners prior to the install.

Question on the kooks headers I looked in there webpage and they offer two different sets of headers for the 14-15 one is 1 3/4 in diameter and the other is 1 7/8 is there much of a difference between the two does one provide better performance than the other one?

you'll be fine with the 1 3/4", thats what have in conjunction with a blower, the way it was explained to me is that the 1 7/8" is essentially for those who are going to completely rebuild your engine from the inside-out for maximum horsepower/torque gains.

I went with 1 7/8 because ill be adding a whillpe here soon. I was told that 1 7/8 are prefered for blowers /nitrous setups as they have more flow. But hey the blowers are tuned on trucks with stock manifolds so who knows

Cool.....I'll look into the Edelbrock Shorties.

After installing them, did the exhaust get any louder?
