Replacement Antenna?

I am looking to replace my radio antenna on my 03 Tahoe Z71. I am looking for something shorter than the stock unit. It bangs in every parking garage I go in. So I want a shorter one. The only shorter ones I find are silver(aluminum) in color. I want black.

Any suggestions?

I shortened the antenna on my Z28 myself. Just pulled the little ball off the top, cut the antenna to length, tapered the new end and put the ball back on with a dab of super glue. However it didn't have the extra little "wire" wrapped around it like the truck does. So if you want to do yours the same way a visit to the local junk yard will be necessary. If you don't want do it that way and want something a little more different then just a plain antenna...

I had the same problem. Everytime I pulled into my garage, the antenna hit. I took and cut the end off, then took one of those little rubber vacuum line caps (black) and stuck it over the cut end. Most people don't even notice even when I point it out to them. I thought reception may suffer, but haven't noticed anything yet and it's been like that for about 5k miles.
