B&B Headers

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I called B&B yesterday to see if they made headers for my truck [2002 Denali] and they do but the list price $949.00!! Why are they so expensive?..i already got the B&B exhaust and was thinking about headers also but now i think i might go with another brand since B&B wants so much...Any idea why they are so expensive? Also, what other headers are good out there for my truck? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated..thanks is advance!!

How do you like your B&B exhaust?  BTW, Tbyrne has the B&B headers for $829.  A little cheaper than the retail price you were quoted.

love the exhaust..except for the fact that the tips sit right behind the rear wheel [same as factory location] and now that i have had it for about 6 months the tips are all discolored from all the dirt and water hitting the tips..i think they got discolored from the high temps + water...but overall love the exhaust and the sound...i wonder is there anyway to get that my tip back to silver..its like a dark gold color now..

I've always liked B&B exhausts on BMWs.  Now that I'm also a truck owner, I will consider the B&B products if and when I decide to do some more upgrades.  For now, I need to install the Volant intake and Granatelli MAF that I got in the mail yesterday.

Hmm..also thinking about the TOG headers for my truck soon...has anyone used these headers before? Ive been doing research and seems like they get some good reviews except that some people have a fitment problem...Also how do i check if i have A.I.R. on my truck?

On my truck, the AIR is on the passenger side header.  It's pretty easy to find and it is a connection that runs from the header and goes under the plastic piece that covers the throttle body (I don't know where it goes from there).

I asked my cuz about headers since he has worked with many of the different brands out ther (Gibson, Edelbrocok, TOG, AZ Speed and Marine, and some others) and he said that there isn't much of a difference, at least not a difference the driver will notice between the different brands.  Price will vary depending on the material and coating of the headers as well.  Ceramic coating is usually more expensive but I do not know of the advantages to it.

Fitting the headers on the 5.3 has been a pain in many cases.  My cuz did a little modification to his and they fit perfectly afterwards.  I'd recommend getting a shop to do it.  When I get mine, I think I'm going to let a shop do it since I do not have a truck lift. Good luck on the headers and keep us posted.
