Borla GM Exhaust

Recommended Posts

The dealer installed it. Maybe it's just the grumble. It's not a rattle or metallic.

I just didn't think the GM Borla was the throaty.

I just sent my HMI away to be programmed. I'll drive around again so I can better explain it.

Are you all saying your GM Borla is completely silent at 70 to 80?

Anyone interested in a borla sport exhaust for a 2015 2016 gmc Yukon denali 6.2 litre engine. It is brand new in the box, and never used. Cheapest I found it was for $971. Make offer.

If I could make that work on a 2016 Silverado crewcab I'd certainly be interested. Sorry I know that doesn't help much.

I went and picked up some tips today, they're just clamped on for now until I decide on final fit but for now I like this. They're tucked back far enough that if I put a rock in them off road they won't crush into my bed and damage it. Took a lot of thought to decide between black powder coat and chrome.

I am going to go with a different tip as well when I pick up this system. Can you tell me what the tail pipe size is? Thanks.

It only comes in touring, and sport. Atak will never be available on yukon as per borla. Who knows years from now. I can tell you, every1 that choose the touring, want to upgrade to sport. If your going to do it, go all out. If I had a pick up truck, then that would be a tough call between sport, and atak. But I think I would the atak!!

The GM "Performance" Borla is the touring sound which is a mild growl, but deep tone upon start and during acceleration. GM Borla touring comes in two models. One model has a single side exit with double tips. The other is a rear exit. As far as I know it is a matter of preference. The GM Borla is the only Borla model with the "flapper". Borla also makes a sport or s model which is much louder and atak model which is the loudest. So, touring is mild, sport is louder and atak is loudest.

What's the "flapper" your talking about and why is it there? Thanks

It's technically a "Passive Exhaust Valve" (PEV) located behind the muffler on the stock OEM exhaust system and before the muffler on the GM Borla, designed to tone down the sound of the exhaust when the engine transitions from V8 to V4 mode. When Active Fuel Management (AFM) transitions the engine from V8 to V4, the sound is quite obnoxious. Some describe the noise as a chop chop chop like a helicopter and others call it a drone. This valve controls the exhaust flow to lesson the affect of the transition.
