Removing stock exhaust in one piece

Recommended Posts

My brother recently bought a '15 Midnight Edition Silverado and wants to install a Corsa exhaust on it. If possible, he'd like to remove the stock exhaust in one piece. From what I've read, it's easiest to remove the stock exhaust by cutting it, but is it possible to remove in one piece?

I have a set of rhino ramps we'll be using, and we have a floor jack and jack stands.

Thanks!

Yeah it will come out in one piece just takes a little time. I have done it both ways. The most recent one I just cut it in half because I found out the first time that when you get it home it probably won't fit in your storage shed or garage. Just go ahead and cut it if it gives you a problem. If you ever want to reinstall it any decent muffler shop can put it back on and weld it up in 15 minutes. I have two of them sittin' around. Probably gonna' scrap 'em.

Got mine out in one piece (and back on again) by myself but it wasn't easy! I would suggest jacking the passenger rear tire off the ground, remove the spare tire, and have some patience.

Same thing as my Fords were. Jack off the chassis ( or hitch) and let the rear suspension hang. Drop the spare and heat shield out and it will be no fighting to remove it as one piece. Mine is 3.5" so it's a little more bulky than a 5.3 trucks exhaust.
