I have been a member for a while, though I have been away for some time(computer problems). My last post was something like may 2013, so a lot has changed. I sold my 2006 Silverado and bought myself a 1996 K1500 Silverado 4x4 and moved form Albuquerque, NM to Houston, TX. Big change and a tone to get use to, But the point of my topic is How many of you have packed up your life and moved to a new State/Country? If I have put this in the wrong place I'm a bit rusty.

Hubby and I will be doing exactly that in another year or so. When he retires we will be moving from the land of the fruit, nuts and flakes (California). We are currently researching various places in Alaska, Idaho and Wyoming. I know that I will be commuting to work in snow, hence the purchase of my 4x4 Silverado. Perhaps you can fill us in as to how to adjust to a new life in a new environment. Plus hubby will be adjusting to being retired.

Thank you... It is a challenge to get settled in a new place. I'm still trying to find the right career instead of just a job..

My Nephew, after his divorce, packed up and moved to North Carolina....no job, just some $$ in the bank. Luckily enough landed a job driving for a rubbish company and doesn't regret a thing.

In November 2008, my girlfriend who I had been dating for almost a year got a job in Knoxville. A month later, when my lease was up in my apartment, packed everything up in a UHaul and my truck, and moved from Tampa to Knoxville. Left a good steady job I had been at for 10 years, had one interview lined up in Knoxville. Flash forward to today, got that job, married that girl, got a better job, bought a house, and we have a 3 year old girl. Still go back to visit family, but would never consider moving back. One of my best decisions made..

Welcome Back for sure. I understand how you feel somewhat as for the last 20 years I get to pack up and move to a different state every 3-4 years. It's always fine for me because my job is always the same but my wife has never liked it.
