Updated my Diablo tune, alot more power.

Recommended Posts

After putting taller tires on my truck I obviously had to change the tire size in the computer. I also decided to update the tuner via the internet. Still havent had Lew tune it yet. I also had the tranfer case "stuck in 4wd when cold reprogram" recall done. It appears that the reprogram erased the Diablo tuning that was already installed. The update took along time to download to tuner. I went to update the tire size and then realized it appeared that the previous tuning wasn't there. So, I retuned the the ecm and tcm with what I had before and changed the tire size. All seemed normal. So yesturday I decided to go open it up a bit to see how the tires felt at 80 maybe 90. Usually by the time I get to 100, it's barely creeping past that. But yesturday, it reached 100 mph and kept climbing pretty quickly to 110 then started to slow up a bit. It definately pulled alot harder up to and past 100 than before. I tried it twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Definatley a big diff. Just though I'd share.

You should have returned it back to stock before going in for the recall.

I would assume you've now lost your recall fix by restoring your stock tune from prior to the recall being applied. I could be wrong though.

Also when was the last time you updated your diablosport? I haven't done mine in a while I'm thinking maybe I should check for an update.

I doubt retuning changed the "fix". If that were the case, any time any vehicle tune would be modified, any past GM recalls or updates would be lost. I think.

And the last time it was updated would be at least 6 months ago.

What tune did you install and what parameters?

Installed "Diablo" tune which is I think a 91 octane tune. The torque management is turned off and line pressure is at max. The last two did't seem to do much for the actual shift firmness. Still pretty soft shifts. I did raise the rev limiter 200 rpm and wot 1-2 shift at 5700, 2-3 shift at 5700, 3-4 and the rest of the other upshifts at 5600. I did not change anything else. I messed with other settings but ended up keeping them stock.
