Black is beautiful but to high maintenance for me, one reason traded in or gave away 2012 for a Silver 2014.attachicon.giftint.jpgattachicon.gifRear Ex.jpgPicture of 2014 after a hand wash and Eagle One detail wax, Claybar with a good wax soon since weather is cool and less humid.

How is that eagle one detail wax working for you on the silver?

Tell you the truth did ok considering I had mixed it with a little bit of Armor All Detail.

Mmmmm ok. Well, I hope it lasts longer than usual store bought wax. The biggest thing I'm excited about is to see how well the sealant lasts (Jet Seal).

JetSeal will last a while dependant upon how you maintain the paint. What's nice about the JS is that you can layer it although you'll want to give the first coat a few hours to cure before applying another coat.

I didn't layer the JS, I just did one coat, let it haze a bit then buffed followed by a coat of Butter Wet Wax. I plan to wash with CG Honeydew Snow Foam wash (as that is what I have on hand currently). I like the finished product, leaves a smooth finish.

Suggestions that will work well with my CG products for a quick detail (just got back from a road trip, bugs all over front of truck).

Further, I live in new development with lots of dust / sand everywhere. Would something like a California Duster work well to "dust" the truck as opposed to always having to spray it down and dry it?

Living in a new development and streets aren't paved yet so clean pics of the truck are scarce.

What size tires are you running? They look perfect for the height ........... 21/2" level? More?

Has anyone tried the Dodo Juice supernatural Nano?

Not the Nano

I haven't used any of the Klasse products in several years, but they have always been good. Obviously, closer to great with the looks of your pic.

First thing's first ...... get a Boars hair brush. They'll truly last years and years, aren't harsh on your paint and are stiff just enough to allow for the right amount of agitation to remove the bugs from the front end.

For now, using an APC for the bugs is your best bet. Don't do this on a hot surface (let it set in the shade and be cool to the touch) ..... spray the entire front end (bug affected areas) with the APC. Let it soak for a few minutes. (If you have that brush by this time then great; if not you can still use a different wash mitt than what you'll use on the rest of the paint.)

The APC will make cleaning the bugs off MUCH easier. Something you can dilute would be best. I recommend Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner. It's cheap, highly dilutable and won't stain the paint. Spray wherever the bugs are, let it set for a few minutes, dip the brush in a bucket of water and lightly scrub the brushes off in a circular motion. Thoroughly rinse. You won't believe how easily they're removed. As long as you don't let the APC set & dry in the sun you won't have to worry about the JS being removed or anything like that.

I have used the California Duster since they were first introduced to the market and love them, BUT you can't use them on all types of "dusty".

If your truck has the normal road dust after a day of driving THEN yes, you should be able to wipe the paint down. Obviously, if you have days worth of this built up then you need to wash the truck. :happysad:

You'll have to gauge how bad the dust is in your neighborhood. Unfortunately, construction "dust" is really dirt more than it is dust. Dust is what you can't see on the roads that ends up on your truck. Dirt is what you see (plumes) and can't avoid. I always hated being around the new construction areas ........ neverending dust storm. Rule of thumb, if it looks like you need to wash it (or even question it) then you probably do. Don't risk marring your paint's finish.

By the way, for anyone who's interested in making your wash job easier .......... (for those of us who don't use something to blow the water off) after you wash the truck and as you begin drying the paint try this:

Before you dry each panel (fender, 1/2 door/hood etc) spritz the area to be dried with a quick detail spray of your choice and then use your MF towel (folded) and wipe the area dry. (fold the towel so that you have more "distance" between your hand and the paint. This will help to keep any holograms from being created in the paint finish).

You won't have any streaks and likely won't have a need to go over the paint with a QD after the wash.

275-65/18 with a 2-1/2" RC kit. Could have went bigger but didn't want to affect the fuel economy and power too much.

@TFTADetail .. This was my truck last week after the Chemical Guys treatment. Pretty stoked. It's also new so no "hard work" put in just yet.
