My Link/Navigation Very disappointing actually disgusting POS

Recommended Posts

We must be neighbours, I'm in Sarnia. I haven't used the Nav in my 2015 LTZ too much, but the one in my 2013 Equinox has problems also. It won't say street names if its also a County Road. I hate when it says turn on CR19 or something when its in the middle of the city. It appears to me that GM has systems in different vehicles, like the HVAC doesn't work the same across the GM line.

Yes in Sarnia as well. I don't have issues using the system locally in town and I use it a lot for work thats why I purchased in vehicle Nav. I have had the name listed as county rd in mine also, although it does not bother me as much as taking me on long scenic waste of time/fuel routes, it doesn't give this as an option on the menu screen. I think infotainment should look at this as an option as I am discovering they are very good at routing for Sunday drives.

Another item I wanted with this was the ability to have tune in radio app on the radio. When researched on line it is deceiving how it appears that you can have this. I called and asked how to install and it is not possible they tell me. Another misleading feature they advertise.

I too don't think the GM Nav system is very good. I am trying to load my own POI's using a USB drive and a SD drive, it will not read the ones I produced using a text editor and saving as a .csv file. It will download the "MyPOIs" folder but there is no content. I did manage to get it to download and read two .csv files I downloaded from the POI Factory. I have checked my format, used different editors like Extra POI Editor and a couple of on-line editors but no success getting the NAV system to recognize them. This should be very simple but this terrible Nav system, that is way overpriced, will not work like it should.

Anyone else had any success loading your own personal POI's?

SRoy I totally agree with everything you said. $60k HD Denali and the Nav system and Bluetooth are the biggest POS technology I have ever owned. GM's first mistake was using a woman for the Nav. We all know women never listen and don't have clue on how to give directions.

What I find funny is you cannot use the Nav system while driving. It will only take voice commands only and we all know the lady just cannot speak my language. I cannot manually enter it because I am driving. But if I pick up my phone and use the On Star app on my phone I can manually type in an address on my phone and once it finds it you can send it to the navigation system via Bluetooth (providing that POS software is working).

Love the truck but the High $ software sucks. Sometimes the software will just totally switch to some other function without touching anything.
