Wheel Locks

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of a good place to order after market wheel locks from?

Just about any tire wheel shop or Auto parts store has them in stock. Pep Boys, Oreilley's, Auto Zone, etc.

The gorilla locks I purchased for my open rim 20 inch Denali are 14mm x 1.50 thread. They don't stick out more than the regulars lock nuts. ( in fact they are slightly shorter ) the model number is 61641.

Note. Do not order the 61641n. They are for rims that have a cover plate.

Yeah, most people had no idea about the key card or anything for ordering and whenever trying to refer them to the manufacturer its usually a few weeks before they get the keys that are ordered and its normally an "I need it now" situation". and with 25-30 bucks for the key, plus shipping to Canada, most people get just the locks removed by force and replace them all and we show them the slip for future reference.

Understand...I just needed a second key..no emergency.

I ended up replacing my OEM locks after they got buggered up with Gorilla locks 78641N Acorn Open End Wheel Locks. They are .875"long and match my lug nuts better with the center lug nut cover of the LTZ wheels. The 61641 and 61641n are too long at 1.5" and hit the cover.

Thanks Jeremy. On the GM truck accessory website they also list part number 17802466. There are some good reviews on Amazon for this part, but the wheel lock is 49.9 mm long, almost 2 inches. The Gorilla wheel locks in 2plus2's photo are 1.5", and look about the right length, so I'm guessing the 17802466 wheel locks are probably a little tall and would stick out too far. I don't want to over think this, so might just save some money and get the Gorilla wheel locks.

My Silverado came with the #17802466 locks from the factory, and yes, they do stick out about a half inch or so more than the lug nuts do.

Looking at the Gorilla locks, and my factory locks, I would go with the Gorilla locks if I had to do it over again.
