Texas Edition Emblem Placement

Recommended Posts

I'm not a fan of the badging in fact I want to do some debadging on my truck...

Word

I totally respect your opinions and have seen a bunch of threads with some best practices on how to debadge if you haven't looked into it already. I see a lot of ricers and imports in high school parking lots near me that are fond of that practice which has totally turned me off to doing it.

IMO I'm a firm believer in being proud of what I drive. Wearing the bowtie and Silverado lettering is more of an honor than a bother for me.

Probably nobody is prouder than me to drive a Silverado LTZ but trying to wax around all those letters and stickers drives me jackbatty.

Caught me (old fart) ?. And that's why I "reduced" badging to just the Texas Edition on the doors, and bowtie, LTZ and Silverado on the tailgate. Removed dealer logo and flex fuel from tailgate and Silverado from doors. I like what I call "a balanced badge look"...meaning balance between everything and nothing. And never, ever put stickers anywhere...Tom, I do really like your look and every time I see it or wax, I reconsider my view point...lol

2015 bought 5 weeks ago. No "SILVERADO" under mine... All my badges are now in the trash. I paid good money for my truck, I don't need to advertise for GM :)

Same here...have a 2014 TX edition and the first thing to go was all the advertisements (except front bowtie). Looks MUCH cleaner w/o em.

It could be worse, I am young and like chrome, everyone buys a Danali and removes all the chrome and I love it the way it is.

This is why I want to do it! I'm gonna keep the GMC logos for sure, probably the Sierra Logos too but, I think everything else will go.

So I put them on yesterday. I ordered a pair from Amazon for around $20. I cleaned the truck and put them on. Very happy with the look.

Figured I'd put them on and if I felt they were too much I could always take them off.

Thanks everyone for your input!

My 2015 is texas edition and it does not say Sierra on the sides

Guys, the OP knows they stopped dual badging (Texas Edition along with either Silverado or Sierra) in later build 2014 models. He just likes it this way...

Hey CoachRiddla, thanks for your input. As chuckl1218 states, another member has let us know that this dual badging was discontinued around October of 2013 and after that, the trucks just had the Texas Edition badge on them. Since they were only made this way for a few months specifically for the Texas market so I doubt I'll bump into another one up here in NY.

So far I like the look but if I get tired or decide it's too much I can always remove them. For $20 and a little bit of my time I thought it was worth a shot.
