New best at track tonight!

Recommended Posts

My best run was a 14.85 @ 92.14 mph with a 2.168 60'. My previous best was 14.92 @ 92.68 mph with a 2.266 60'. Also tested an AirAid drop in filter vs a Purolator paper filter, well sort of a test. My first run was with the paper filter, it was 15.030 @ 91.364 mph, the next run I put the AirAid filter in and ran a 14.921 @ 91.781. Grant this was only a one run comparison, I used the AirAid filter the rest of the night and the runs were from 15.011, 14.946, 14.940 and my best of 14.853.. I think I know why my top end speed is slower and has been slower my last three trips, different tires. I had different tires with most of my other trips to the track, Pep Boy specials, they were a 80K tires, now I've got some America's Tires Contenital 60K tires. I think the previous tires had a harder rubber, that's why they would last longer. They also must have had less rolling resistance, my mpg went down almost 1 mpg with these new tires. These tires do grip better but they may have more rolling resistance so my top end mph is lower. At least that's my theory. The temp was 61* most of the night with a few drops of rain from time to time, overall had a good night.

Very nice runs!!

Good choice on your trucks colour - of course, I might be a lil biased.

Not to hijack your thread or anything, but how tough were those lowering shackles to install?  I hauled 'bout 1000 lbs of fill dirt this weekend and #### if the truck didn't look pretty sweet with the backend level with the front!!  I am not looking for slammed, but merely level.

Enjoy that truck as I heard that Chevy is dropping the carmine red next year!  Go figure.

What can I say about the color, great minds think alike! OK, enough with the       . I had the shackles installed, it was $150 even from a local shop. It was the first thing I did, the truck was only a week old when I did it. It just gives it a nice level look, I didn't like the back higher with the factory 2" rake.
