GM 13577429, correct code for Gen V flex fuel sensor?

Recommended Posts

Shoot I was under the impression the flex fuel sensor was plug and play. I had read there is already a connector hanging out down there but it has a cover on it.

Lol... Well... It will plug right in where they are supposed to electrically, but there is no provision to splice into the fuel line. I'm going to put mine under the hood where the fuel line meets the fuel rail, and fabricate a short double ended quick connect to tie the two together then run my sensor wires to it. I'm pretty sure it's the preferred method for the vette crowd and I just don't want to cut a fuel line under the truck.

I'd love to see what a 6.2 would do on E85. It's a big difference on the 5.3.

I'll definitely post up my dyno results in October. I know right now completely stock I'm making 345-350rwhp and 376-380rwtq.

Shit that's too much work in my book. One thing I would like to know is if I can plug in this sensor and hook it up to the fuel lines and not have it throw any codes. I would imagine it wont since the truck doesn't even use it stock.

Codes are turned off for the sensor since it doesn't have one now, you'll be fine. Even if it would throw codes you could plumb it and just leave unplugged until tuned, then plug it in.

Ok cool. Since this is my first time messing around with fuel sensors and not having the part I didn't know if there was a valve or something inside. Thanks for the insight!

You actually do not need the sensor to run E85 but if you have the sensor then you can actually switch between the fuels without changing tunes. That's the biggest reason why I would like the sensor since E85 isn't the easiest to find around me sometimes.

Actually I don't believe that's correct for 2014+.

Yeah, he would be correct if he said "as long as you are tuned for E85 you don't need a sensor..." Which is what I'm thinking he was trying to say since he mentioned swapping tunes back and forth.

I think we are all in the same page anyway...

Catching what he's pitching...

Picken up what he's throwin down...

Smellin what he's steppin in... and so on!
