Just got my 6 month truck back about 3 weeks ago from the shop to get the airdam replaced and what not after hitting a stray dog on the interstate. Also while taking snaps of it, decided to take a couple of my fathers new HD.

Beautiful trucks y'all have.  Of course I'm partial toward your dad's.  grinnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Durn dogs.  I have had to pay a couple of times in the past for damage that they have done.

Love the Xtreme man!  :thumb:  :thumb: I was really into them for a while and starting to get back.  I'm looking for a new vehicle but can't decide:  Xtreme, V8 in a 1st gen. S10, 96-98 Silverado, or if I can wait long enough a Sy/Ty.

Thanks for the compliments. Wish I had some pics of my pops older ride, his 95 GMC 2500 4x4 Im trying to convince him to let me have it as my workhorse ride for when I go camping, hunting, paintballing, pulling trailers and etc.

I think my father has enough trucks though, he could give me one lol. He has a the afore mentioned GMC, a 98 Chevy 1500, and a the new one pictured above. All 4x4, I think he could loan me one hehehhee.

This is a little off topic, but it needs to be said...

You did the right thing hitting the dog (or whatever else it could have been).

Last thursday, a car w/ 3 local h.s. seniors swerved to miss a dog.  The car hit a tree and flipped several times.  It threw one of the boys out of the car, and the car landed on him.  All you could see was feet and ankles.

Sorry to bring you guys down, but this boy was the only son of a lady that used to work for me.  She is still very close friends with several women I work with.  There has been a dark cloud at work for about a week now.  They cancelled/postponed the prom.  This boy was extremely popular and had a great life ahead of him.

I'll close by reitterating...

You did the right thing by hitting the dog!

No kidding!!!!  Never swerve.  At least the air dam stuff is flexible and cheap (replaceable) to replace, or even repair.

In my case, through all these decades, I know I have tallied up a bunch of armadillos, a few dogs (my little car back then lost on one of them), and my '99 Grand Am had to have its front nose cap replaced because of a big, smelly, rooter swamp pig.  I didn't swerve, just that the thing entered the road as I came through.

If a 300 pound man was to lay down, and you measure the top of his chest to the floor, this rooter pig was bigger.

If I had a truck back then, I would have loaded that pig up and had him butchered.

Anyway, humor aside, as the previous message said, don't swerve.  You did right. Close your eyes in case the air bag goes off.
