Can tailgate assist be added to basic tailgate?

Does anyone know if the tailgate assist can be added to a basic tailgate? I damaged my tailgate a while back and I've found a replacement. However, the gate I've found does not have the assist feature or camera. I figure I should be able to remove the camera from my exisiting gate and move it to the basic tailgate. I'm not sure about the assist feature. Can this be removed from mine and transferred to the new unit?

The hinges on the gate are different for the assist so you'd have to swap them however, the hinges on the gate appear to be welded to the gate.

There's a third party way. Some company I don't remember the name. They have like a shock that attaches to the bolts to help lower the tailgate slowly. My 2wt didn't have the tailgate assist so that's what I added. Only like $25 at the time

No.......... its not just the hinges. The add on shock idea may work though.
