Decal delete, Pickup box, no charge???

Recommended Posts

I was with a friend looking at 2015 Silverado's and noticed all the trucks we looked at had Decal delete, Pickup box, no charge, on the window sticker. The salesman we were with wasn't sure what it meant. Anyone know?

I'm not sure, but I will say that it sad that the salesman doesn't even know what he is selling.

I hate when I go to the dealership and have to tell them what is included in the vehicle I want.

That seems strange, because the order guide shows box decals as dealer installed, and extra cost.

SB7 LPO, bedside decal, Z71, (dealer-installed)
1 - Requires (Z71) Off-Road Suspension Package. Not available with (SF8) Z71/4x4 bedside decal, LPO or (SB9) 4x4 bedside decal, LPO.
SB9 LPO, bedside decal, 4x4, (dealer-installed)
1 - Requires 4x4 models. Not available with (SB7) Z71 bedside decal, LPO or (SF8) Z71/4x4 bedside decal, LPO.
and
SF8 LPO, Z71/4WD bedside decal, (dealer-installed)
1 - Requires 4x4 models and (Z71) Off-Road Suspension Package. Not available with (SB7) Z71 bedside decal, LPO or (SB9) 4x4 bedside decal, LPO.
The chrome trim piece on the front fender is 'standard' as part of the 4x4 or z71

I don't know that they are extra cost on Silverados. Mine ("4x4" on the bedsides) certainly wasn't.

One possibility is that the trucks seen by the OP were (erroneously) ordered without the decals and they were installed by the dealership upon delivery.

This is what I am talking about, it wasn't just on one truck, but all the trucks in stock. They all had 4x4 or Z71 decals on them. This is really very unimportant, just idle curiosity. :D

Before I left the dealership after everything was signed I asked the salesman if it was possible to remove the decals before I took delivery. He told me they don't like doing it in fear the finish will be ruined in the process. I'm sure it was a load and he was rushing me out since I already signed but I let it go.

The idea of a $50K truck having 'stickers' on it just seems tacky IMO.

When I ordered my '14 3500 I could not order it with decal delete unless I ordered it fleet but then I lost A-plan and rebates. Before that you could order one decal delete as a zero cost option, seems how decals look tacky and are not installed strait I don't like them, took me about 3min. Using a blow dryer, goo gone, and my finger nail.
