How Often Do You Wash Your Truck?

Recommended Posts

Between having well water and no place in the shade to prevent water spotting, I almost never wash it at home. I'll hit it with a pressured rinse in the winter months at the manual car wash place. Otherwise, it typically only gets washed when the dealer has it in for service.

I'm considering buckling down and giving it an extremely thorough wash and wiping on some Zaino stuff, tho. And I might opt to take advantage of one of the "local" car washes offering $15/month unlimited washes.

I wash mine about every 2 weeks and use whatever is on sale when it's time to restock. Currently using new turtle wax ice products and have been rather impressed thus far. It gets the spray wax after every wash and paste wax twice a year. Last year it actually got the paste 3 times though. I use a soft wand brush first then fresh soapy water and wash again by hand with microfiber pad. Dry with microfiber cloth and wax with microfiber.

I have a daily carwash pass. I drive through every day. Not a scratch or swirl mark on my truck. $20/month.

And I know I'm wrong.

My Unlimited Club car wash membership is $20/month as well, but I only make it there once a week...

I think that my old vehicle was being held together at times by the dirt, since it almost never got washed. I decided that with my new vehicle, it was going to get washed on a regular basis. The best way to accomplish it was to buy a monthly pass for my local car wash. They do a great job and since it is monthly I can go in as many times a month as I need to.

I agree... the monthly "WashPass" deal is the best way to go. My truck always looks like it just came off the showroom floor.

:chevrolet: I wash the truck at least once a week weather permitting. Adams products in use here!

i wash once a week, wax once every other month, and just got done clay barring it this weekend.

i also use adams polish.

Exterior Process:

Rinse truck

1 bucket with 3 shots of Adam's shampoo

Wash everything above fenders with large mf pad.

empty bucket and refill.

Wash everything below fenders with medium mf pad.

Wash lower bumper.

Wash wheels and tires.

Wash inner fenders.

Rinse.

Mist truck with detail spray.

Dry.

Clean windows and mirrors.

Hit all exterior plastic with Adam's Super VRT

polish wheel hoops with adam's wheel polisher #1

Polish clear coated wheel faces with detail spray and adam's double soft towel

Shine tires with Adam's tire shine.

Polish paint by section with detail spray and adam's double soft towels

For this last detail, i noticed i had some spots on the bed fender that look like splatter from wheel detailing. add that with a few water spots on the hood...and i decided to clay bar and re-wax the whole truck using Adam's buttery wax and then Adam's brilliant glaze.
