One whole video? So which manufacturer is perfect and has never had a failure?

On a side note, my current AC Delco filter installed by my dealer is leaking. It's tight as ****, but still leaves a 2 inch puddle after a couple of days in my garage.

On another side note - I absolutely LOVE my Wolverine Epoxy garage floor. Never have to worry about making a mess. Just mop it out and it looks like the day I installed it.

^ LOL. These are manufactured items. There is no perfect 100.00% item. I don't use fram though. Sorry. All my construction equipment runs OE CAT filters. My truck will run M1 or AC. Never know what kind of numb nut put your filter on either buddy. You might have two gaskets on it. Or he never wiped the block gasket surface clean. I have an epoxy floor the home builder put in, not sure what brand but it's decent. I grew up with bare concrete, I lived and did a lot of car work on that bare concrete.

Good post gone_fishing! Thanks. Yes, the AC PF63 seems like the best "bang for the buck" filter for sure! And my oil pressures are much lower with the PF63 than when I was running the P1. Hands down. At warm idle I'm now seeing 1 need above 30, figure 32psi. Never saw it that low with the P1. I'm wondering how the M1 is going to perform. I have it sitting in the garage ready for the next LOF. I'm going to run the same 0-20 Full syn Valvoline so the oil visc is not a variable.

Apparently, you would want to stay away from the E-core ACD filters according to this. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3523655/Virgin_AC_Delco_PF63E_&amp

I'm not sure if the PF-63 was superseded by the PF-63E or if both are available. But I'd look for the non "E" version.

The PF63E is the e core replacement for the PF63. Once all the PF63 stock is gone all you will be able to purchase is the PF63E.

Sent from my MaxiPad

Then the two PF-63 filters I have are the last oil filters I'll buy from ACD.

You can still get them from Amazon and Ebay. Everyone is different and it seems most don't like the ECore filters due to construction. I don't see any problems with them if you are going to run them for 5k to 8k miles.

Might stock up on some PF63, non E's from my local Wally.

Nobody here buys the PF63's they buy the E-core's instead because they are the latest greatest...well maybe not! I just bought an un-opened Dura-pack from the Wally here and they came out to be $3.41 each and they have 18 cases left and I will likely buy several more cases for myself or maybe to sell

Ordered non-E PF63 from both amazon and rockauto. In both cases I received PF63E filters. Amazons went back on their dime and rockauto refunded me but said I don't need to return the 2 filters. I guess I'm going to be using the E filters.

If properly manufactured, how much difference is the paper-glue-cardboard pleat end on the PF63E from the paper-glue-metal end on the PF63? I would think the glue may be an issue but the filter element paper is probably the weakest part of the filter. Of course that assumes the filters are properly made.

Any info on the reported oil filter failures on the 14/15 trucks? I wonder if these failures led to the PF63E design changes.

PF63E are cheaper to make
