Has anyone used a softopper on a 2015?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a bed cover for the truck to use when I'm towing the camper. I don't quite like the idea of a hard top because it limits my everyday cargo size. I also don't like a fold up cover because if I want to put anything tall like bikes or the webber in the bed the top would have to be open and stuff could get wet. So I feel I'm left with a softopper. I would love to see a picture of one on a new gm. Or talk to someone who has one. Thanks!!!

If you are afraid of something getting wet while towing your camper, couldn't you just put said items inside the camper while towing?

$700 for a soft topper that you will only use while camping seems a bit much, but that's prob just another added cost to going camping.

I have a hard folding cover, Gator FX3, and love it. When need full bed access, I can fold it up lock it against the cab and have full bed access

I just ordered an Access Lorado for my 15 Sierra CC for $389 delivered from truck accessorizer.com. I've had 3 of these tonneaus and have ordered two more for buddies in the past and have never had a problem with any of them.

I agree they are expensive and camping is a big reason but I can think of uses for it more often then that. My issue is my camper is a 26ft but it does not have slides or much storage so we kinda want to keep the inside clear for the most part.

With our previous truck which we used for family trips, I bought one of those softside car top carriers. I would put it in the truck bed up close to cab and secure to cargo tie-downs. That would keep luggage, etc. dry but I could also haul bicycles, etc. in remaining area of the bed.

We also towed a 5'er camper with it and I used a water proof plastic foot locker trunk in front of 5'er hitch for a few items that I wanted to keep dry. I could then put other small stuff like a portable Weber grill behind the hitch.

That looks great I just worry about not having the room for tall things and still being out of the weather. Haha I guess I should just drive my e350 van.

I've been wondering about the softoppers myself, mostly for "camping" as well (got drunk, slept in the cab and next time want a cover over the bed). I like the looks of the softoppers and with the sides and end rolled up, I think they look pretty damn cool. If anyone has one I'd love to see pics on a black pickup.

Hey I don't have a black truck but here is my soft topper. I will post a few more pictures in the morning. I can say it has been the best thing I have done to my truck.

awesome thanks. Its something I'm definitely considering because I live in an apartment so a hard top is out of the question... that and I just don't like how they look. Do the sides roll up on them while keeping the top up? Any pics would definitely be appreciated. Probably something i'll order next summer but want to get my research done on it before making the decision. Thanks.

yes they do you can have the sides and back rolled up. you can also get a front and back screen for it if you are using it for camping. Between the softtopper and a truck bed air mattress you would be all set.
