If you are getting something for your dad, what are you getting?

 

If you are a father, what's something you'd want?

 

 

I'm mining for last-minute gift ideas. My dad has what seems like everything under the sun, so I always struggle with what to get him. Not that he expects anything, but I usually bring something.

Maybe something for his car. He only sees it as a means of transportation... Would love it if he started sharing my love of trucks.

Taking a week+ off to do stuff with him.

 

Oh, and giving him my box blade. Already gave him the tractor a few years back to go with the blade....so that's pretty much it except I am damn glad he is still with us.

I already gave my dad his gift. Got him some golf tees, divit tool, and ball marker with my company's logo (Rolls-Royce). He liked it

 

As for me I told my wife not to get my anything. We normally get stuff we need throughout the year. Plus this year I am taking a vacation myself to Kentucky for Camarofest in August, last yr I took a trip with our camaro club I think fri/sat of fathers day weekend to Michigan. Just a little break/getaway is nice

We went all out this year. I am going to be flying my mom & dad out to join the wife & I on vacation. We have a huge gift for them when they get here, I guess it's a late mothers day & fathers day combined, we are calling it 'parents day'!

 

We bought them a new 30ft. travel trailer/camper that he and my mother have been looking to purchase but he doesn't have an HD to tow it with, his 1500 just won't do. Soooooo, we also have a brand new 2015 deep ruby metallic Duramax Silverado for him to tow it home, and wherever they wish to go.

 

We went with the double cab standard box LT w/ black leather, 18" wheels, Z71 w/ appearance package, trailering wiring for 5th wheel, and all the interior fun stuff!

 

It's loaded up pretty good because this is probably the last new truck he will ever have. We were going to get the 3500 but there was not one on the lot in the correct can configuration. The dealer said he didn't think that was available in that model, long box only. It also only added 1,500lbs GVWR and we could not justify paying the difference for the little extra weight.

 

Should be quite the surprise come the 21st! They think they are flying back home Wed. the 24th, should be a great day!

 

Will have to post some pics. when they take delivery.

I lost my Father in 2006. The best gift you can give them is to tell 'em how you really feel about them while you still can. A $100.00 gift card to Pro Bass shop goes good with this too.
