Is the techflex stuff needed for heat reasons under the hood or just for looks? New to all this car mod stuff but learning a ton!

Here's a link to your answer.....

...for the most part I use it for abrasion resistance and looks...

Hey Vader62,

First off, NICE truck bro! Second, being a carpenter and a bit of a perfectionist myself, I don't just throw compliments at people to be nice. But, this is some excellent craftsmanship! I have a 2015 SLT 6.2 that I plan on doing some of the same blackout mods to as well. I also have a Bit One that I was planning on using with the stock deck as well because I want to keep all the factory features. I saw you changed the processor being used and I was curious as to why?

Thanks for the compliments. I changed from the Bit One to the Mosconi for three reasons.

1) The Mini Controller for the Mosconi fits perfectly into the trim panel left side of steering wheel. Kyle installed his, and I was like, well thats the best place I have seen anyone mount a controller and it look oem.

2) The software for the Mosconi controller seemed a little bit more straight forward, and has less issues than the Bit One's (most likely the new one is waaaayyyy better), and it was alot easier for me to get files from Kyle to get a base setup before it goes under the scope.

3) I liked the fact that it was a bit more compact than the Audison, provided me with what I needed (blending of channels by percentage for one thing), and the red accent lighting blends with GMC unlike the audison being only blue (if I remember correctly).

I have to make a couple harnesses for my doors this weekend, then the amplifiers will be going back in for the final install. Then it's power up time, base settings for the Mosconi, setting gains with the SMD DD-1+, make speaker connections and test until I go over and pick up door panels. Last touch will be in a couple months when I install an Alpine X110-SRA. Before that will be the install of Willwood brakes all around, my sway bars front & rear, Belltech 4601 shackles for the rear, Bilstein 4600's all around, and my other set of wheels. (Waiting on a set of Michelin Premier 285/45R22's)

I have been waiting since last summer to finish the truck upgrades. Car Audio took it's priority until spring. Once all that gets done I will finalize everything with the Alpine head unit. Then done.......or at least until I decide its supercharger time.....

With a nice processor like that, why change the deck?

I want the Alpine for its direct connect to all GM features already in the truck, the auxiliary switches, the 10-inch screen, and most importantly the pre-out connections for the mosconi rather than line-out from the amp.

Did you get a custom plug for the negative terminal on the battery? How did you connect all the wires to it?

Also, i have some large copper lug ring terminals for the 0 gauge wire, should i solder these in or crimp or both?

Thanks!

Does the alpine interface with the dash screen?

Yes, Knukonceptz negative terminal. Both crimp and solder if possible, at a minimum crimp.

Does the alpine interface with the dash screen?

Yes. The Alpine X110-SRA is specifically designed for the 2014+ Sierra's without Bose.

Damn! Just looked it up and I see why you want it! Sick! With Bose you just need after market amps and speakers to make it work?

Yes, I am fully aware, and mine will be running off the Bose until I finish the suspension and brake upgrade.

Sorry if I was unclear... I was asking if all that was required was amps and speakers to make it work with Bose. I like this upgrade just want to make sure I know what I am dealing with when the price comes down a bit.
