Diesel Question

Recommended Posts

Since owning the truck in November, my average has been 16.9 mpg (mostly rural back roads w/some in town driving) It's not too bad considering the cold temperature (not using the front cover) & blended fuel. Lately, I've been getting 18.5 . . . . . . getting much better with the warmer temps.

Maybe I should get the Diesel..instead of the 6.0????

it all depends on how you'll use the rig, miles driven, etc.

do a search on diesel v. gas, and you'll find it's been debated a time or two...

I have a 2003 Duramax LT extended cab short box, about 7,500 miles so far.  Running empty mixed city/rural driving I get 19-21MPG.  Pulling 8,000# load on flat rural terrain I get about 13MPG.  Pulling 8,000# load in hills/mountains I get around 8-9MPG.
