Climate control buttons light up intermittently

Recommended Posts

My climate control lights go on only about half the time. When this happens, the buttons seem to continue to change settings properly. Either the lights will start functioning after a few minutes of driving, or I can recycle the ignition, and they'll light up again.

A couple of times, this has affected only the AC button, except the AC doesn't seem to come on in that case.

Of course the AC seems to be working again, right after I've booked a service appt.

I'm hoping this is something trivial, ie. a faulty climate control dash wire. I've checked the hook up right behind the controls, and it seems to be secure.

Any ideas/reassurance?

Consider the source of these parts. Reassurance? As good as Chinese quality control.

AC and floor hvac climate control buttons didn’t light up today. Guessing it’s a entire control lane not just replaceable lights?

5 years old and 21k miles. Lowest bidder for this part.
