Welcome to the group.

The complimentary maintenance plan will cover scheduled services for two years or 24,000 miles. Most 2014 vehicles will receive an oil and filter, change four-wheel tire rotation and a 27-point vehicle inspection. GM notes in its announcement, “Some alternative-fuel vehicles do not include oil changes, and some performance vehicles do not include tire rotations when that service is not recommended.” The plan covers up to four service visits in the two-year period and GM says it can be transferred to a new owner if the car is sold before the period ends. And those no need for current 2014 model year owners to fret about the late announcement. Customers who have already purchased or leased one of the eligible vehicles will receive the maintenance program as well.

My dealer told me he would change my oil whenever I wanted, but of course not more than 4 times. I had it change at 1500 miles because it was a year old. Going forward I will change it when it's down to about 10%.

You have free oil changes to use. If they will do it now I would go ahead and get it changed. Never hurts to get the oil out at about the mileage you are at now. It is the first oil and has break-in material in it. Would it hurt to go until the OLM is down to 20%, probably not. But I just feel better getting it done early the first time around.
