I inform the Dealer, If they would like to put on a license frame ring, Okay it will cost $500.00 off the deal. They say No, I say no to the ring. Done.

I don't wear names except my fraternity and mine. My Frat.... USMC. Class '75.

I just don't understand why a person spends so much money they feel they owe something to a allow a dealership put their name on their vehicle. The sad thing if you don't like just have the dealership remove it instead of going home to do so. As a consumer you have the power to make the dealership remove it. All it takes is tell them the dealerships to remove them. It is as easy as that. If you feel you need it so be it. The only way I would allow it if the dealership gave me the vehicle for free. I guess I am not just a follower and not afraid to rock the boat on this subject.

I don't necessarily think it's about being a "follower" or "not being afraid to rock the boat", it's more about people not caring about having a 3 inch sticker on their vehicle or having a license plate frame that no one even pays attention too.

if you don't like it take it off I can just imagine how much fun it must be dealing with some of you guys you think we think you are so clever when you ask for payment for advertising? #1 we've heard it before #2 the salesmen and managers don't give a damn and #3 all we do is laugh at someone who takes a trivial thing that most dealers do like a tag and make it some huge deal- the old days with riveted plates I can see that. Now it's foam tape and vinyl just peel it off and quit whining.

Well that post sounds a bit.. aggressive..

but I get some people freak out about this kinda stuff.

I just ask them politely to take any and all stickers off the truck. If they dont.. I wait till a hot day in august, leave my truck outside for a few hours, and peel it off with my hands.. job done.

What I dont like on these particular vehicles is dealers who poke holes in your bumper to install a vanity tag. Not a big deal on the k2s cos theres a tag holder that goes there, but like a buddy of mine had a subaru with a smooth front bumper and they used self tapping screws to put their dealer plate on the car. He took it off and has had 10 years of 2 ugly holes in his bumper. That's just not cool.

Now that I would have a problem with. Unless I had to have a plate on the front I'd definitely be a little hot under the collar if a dealer popped holes in my bumper just for an advertisement.

that's EXACTLY what the dealer did where I got my Aveo from; of course, I took those lemons, and made lemonade out of it: i installed a custom European Vanity plate my sister sent me from Germany one christmas using the same holes the dealer used.

My dealership asks for you to atleast leave the license plate frame on it if nothing else. It helps them quickly figure out who gets priority treatment when it comes to service, car washes etc, and I do t blame them at all. I bought my truck from a place I knew would take take of me and my truck, not just at the time of purchase. Because of tjat, I don't mind having their plate frame on it. Better than a Body shop one, or My other vehicle is a ... etc

Congrats!

You just posted everything that's wrong with most deslerships and the people employed there......And it's a huge problem after paying $40-$50 thousand for some of these trucks and having a bozo drill 4 holes in the bumper for a license plate braket to put their advertisements on.

I also not sure where anyone asked for a payment from a stealership. What was said is why advertise for free after spending a boat load of cash? If people want you to advertise, they should pay you to do so, that's how the world works. Nobody from what I read asked a salesperson, or manager for money.

Can you pist the name of the dealership you work for so forum members can avoid the place since nobody working there cares about the customer, thanks.

I never had any trouble getting my vehicle serviced at different Chevy garages without any tramp stickers/plates covers on my vehicles. Watch out your dealership might sell you a bridge (with their name on it) in your area for a great deal. Just joking with you. I don't get pushed around when I am paying good money.

If a dealership ever drilled holes anywhere on my vehicle to put their name on my vehicle they would be replacing that part etc. I feel if a dealership puts anything on my vehicle w/o my permission they are going to pay to remove it. Not me.

I agree no advertisements on my vehicle. I always tell them to leave them off and some times they still have put a sticker on it, at that point I will ask them why did they still did it...after what ever their excuse they give me I end up taking it home and removing it myself.

The best dealership installed advertisement was in a persons third brake light...I couldn't believe it as I was riding behind them, every time they stepped on their brakes the dealerships name appeared. They sure went through a lot of trouble for that one and the owner probably will never know till someone tells them...I can't even imagine that it could be legal to alter the brake light... :nonod:

A lot of people dont even think about it or really give a chit about stickers or plate rings. I took mine off from the dealer i purchased my truck from and added my the dealer rings to mine where i get my truck serviced at plus my service advisor is my son in law. To each his own really
