My take on the Baltimore police brutality.

Self-appointed judge and jury?

The cops were (over) charged and now go to a real trial with a real judge, and, sadly, a most likely unsympathetic and heavily biased jury.

There will be no fair trial. Now it's mob rule and trial by media in Baltimore.

All so the mayor and her cronies can gather more power and continue to suck up to the criminal element that riddles Baltimore.

I agree that the police officers who have murdered Freddie Gray in custody was completely unjustified and even a veteran law enforcement officer would say so too, but looting fellow Baltimore residents, burning down businesses is NOT the answer. Yes, you have a right to protest, no, you don't have the right to injure, kill, and burn down things that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the problem. I say if you want to solve the problem, attack the source and not the irrelevant things.

Clearer now?

Self-appointed judge and jury.

Most of what a person reads on forums is "somebodys take on something", and just like the title of this thread, this is tonyghkbve's take on Baltimore police brutality. This is true to forums, don't see anything wrong or right with that.

tonyghkbve post is clear, his take doesn't have any relevance on anything. What's not clear is what you are posting????

90% of these cops are good guys, but they are caught-up in a bad system. If the department is run by a crooked, unprofessional, unethical, immoral Chief of Police, then the entire process is broken. The things you mention is training 101, you are 100% correct.

I agree. Overwhelmingly, LEOs are good people. Maybe better on average than the cross section of the local society. Some are not so good people. Some just make poor choices. Granted, LEOs may have only seconds to make choices. Occasionally, regular people (I hate the term "civilians", because it's come to infer a different standard than a LEO) are in similar decision making situations. Making a poor one could have lifelong consequences for both.

In the large aerospace company I work for, I and my co-workers deal with safety issues that affect the public. Just to level set, I, my family, and friends are part of that "public". Our company has had ethics training as part of its culture for many years. We have real examples of ethics challenges brought to our staff meetings by fellow workers on a regular basis. Most of these ethics examples are challenges faced in their daily work. We discuss these openly. It sounded really corny when we began this years ago. But now, it seems to me it's an all important cornerstone of our daily business...to always act ethically, that is. Nothing promotes ethical behavior better than talking about it and seeing examples of how it helps. I hope that LEO agencies do something similar. Their business is very similar to mine in some regards.
