Thanks guys. Noticed both of yall have the backrack brand, how is their quality / durability?

This is my second BR. Build quality, fit, finish is good, as long as it can get delivered to you without it getting banged up. This second one busted through the cardboard in some spots and got scuffed up and quickly started to rust.

I have seen some other brands since that I think I like the look of a little better (can not remember names at the moment); but all in all I'm happy.

In general, I like mine. Box was slightly busted in in one corner upon delivery but rack was undamaged, so I lucked out.

Only thing I don't like is that the mounts don't presently allow the rack to sit PERFECTLY center -- it's about a 1/4" off. When I have time (HA!) I might take it off and re-drill the brackets so as to allow it to sit perfectly in the middle.

What the deal with the wooden boxes?

Hold sand bags used as ballast in the winter and when plow is mounted. Keeps them directly over the axle and keeps the bulk of the bed open.

I noticed you guys dont have the bracket that goes over the bed rail... do you even need it to mount the backrack properly?
