My muddy truck

Shaners

Recommended Posts

I was at my buddies camp and we did some offroading with the HD.  We were on oil lease property/pipe lines and ATV trails.  We also found a muddy hillside that was somewhat stripped for bank gravel and did some hill climbing too...

The truck isn't real dirty because we were just putt-putting along, but the terrain was very soupy and slippery.  The tires and 4wd worked better than I expected (especially in the hill climbing).  The last picture shows how I somehow knocked the bumper cap off the left front...  I hope to put it back on when temps warm up and I get the truck cleaned up.

The Westin Tube steps and the Husky mud flaps did an excellent job keeping the slop down low!!!

Looks like It could've been from Tire rubbage....... :jester:

Are you running 285's on your HD?

No I'm running 265's on my truck with the front bars cranked a little and there is plenty of clearance.

I hit something hard enough to launch the truck in the air...  I hit my head on the roof and knocked my hat off, my one friend bruised his shoulder while another broke his glasses!!!  I popped a clip off the lower air dam, but was able to get it back on...  I may have bent the bumper a little, but I doubt it.  It just appears that the front bumper plastic cap popped off it's mounts because it doesn't fit tight where it wraps around the corner of the bumper.  I'm sure it will go back on, but I just have to figure out how the whole bumper cap mounts to the bumper!!!

Boy did we have fun!!!  I wish I had some pics to show you the hill we were climbing!!!  It was small stones and lots of mud and very steep!!!  We didn't make it up every time we tried!!!

Super Sweet man!

I remember i damaged my lower valance once when i was stock height and pushed the bumper up some.

I had to remove the bumper and straighten out one of the small brackets at the end.   Perfect now :jester:

That brings back some good memories of what I used to do when I didn't have to pay for the damage to my truck.  But now I do so only off-road/mudbogging when I know I won't hurt myself or my truck.  Looks good though....just don't take it to a car wash, they'll try to charge you for "excessive dirt". :thumb:
