2015 Chevy 2500 ltz passenger side blinker in camper mirror is blindin

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 2015 Chevy 2500 HD. It has the blinker in the mirror, camper style mirrors. When I use the blinker to turn right or switch lanes to the right at night it is blinding and I cannot see out that window. The driver side mirror has like a frost like cover internally over the LED lights to dull the brightness which I believe should be like that on passenger side also. Could someone please get back to me about this situation.

yeah i noticed this when I installed my 2015+ Tow mirrors as well.

Since I have tint on my windows its not that bad , however at night with windows down , it is semi blinding.

The dealer told me that they started painting the bulbs to dim them,so I will be trying that when I go in to get my oil changed

Drivers side only? Is it a free replacement?

I dont mind the drivers side but the pass side is stupid bright. We aren't allowed to tint side glass here either.

I'm surprised that no one from GM could have seen that this was going to be a problem before they released them into production.

I also had this problem and had to find my own way of solving it as GM only offers the driver's side replacement. You can do this with very little money if you don't mind using your current passenger's side mirror.

Here is my solution. Hope this helps someone as this was a big problem for me!!

Rather than tint the side glass, I bought dark tint and cut a couple of small pieces and put them over the LED's on the mirrors..worked great. Still clearly visible from the rear but toned down the brightness to a tolerable level.

My 16 Denali HD has this issue, can't see out the passenger window when turning right at night. Poor design to say the least. Haven't discussed with dealer (been in shop 18 days now getting injector pump replaced and turbo inlet gasket changed).

Basically a "me too" and GM still hasn't resolved this on the 2016 models.
