SOME PEOPLE!

So got into an argument today with a guy from work... His argument was that tacomas are better then the colorado because you can't take the Colorado air dam off cause it will blow the engine up........ Like seriously. Some people fall of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down... Then the tree lands on them...

he's correct. GM is using a new technology called "Active Aero Valve Timing" that applies an algorithm to the ECU. The algorithm relates aerodynamic force (as measured at the air dam) and valve timing to maximize fuel economy. if you remove the air dam a reading of zero lbs-force is sent to the ECU and the algorithm attempts to divide by zero. you know what happens next...

i just saved you Colorado owners the cost of a new crate motor. you're welcome. i accept cash and/or liquor donations.

If GM created something like that it probably wouldn't work properly...

Seriously though, this guy must not be very bright!

:rollin: I like that! I'm going to have to remember this one. If he likes the Taco better then just let him live in his own little world...he's probably quite comfortable there and everyone probably knows him...hopefully there's a lot of soft spongy walls to keep him from hurting himself....

So they've figured out how to minimize the aero/fuel economy benefit of a strong tailwind? :jester:
