I have no idea why / Colorado Bonanza!

Im not sure if SnakeEyes is being sarcastic but it's definitely zone conference. There are generally around a hundred missionaries so the vehicles can add up fast. The LDS church buys a lot of colorados. Equinox was most likely the Mission President. Trucks come in a lot handier when hauling suitcases and bikes all over every 6 weeks. Went on a mission from 2005-2007 to Tucson Arizona and El Paso, Texas and spoke Spanish. Awesome 2 years! Just a tip, don't ever buy a used missionary vehicle. I wad a good driver at 19 and nice to vehicles, but many are not, even the religious ones. Lol. Not to mention the ones who are not American. Mexico and some other countries have crappy traffic laws and the drivers aren't afraid to abuse the ones that are there. Especially the 19-21 year olds. I'm happy to share thoughts on any myths/questions about missions/missionaries.

Those have reached the 75,000 mile mark and are being sold.

Here in Colorado we have two missions, the Denver North and the Denver South. I live in the Denver South mission area and the mission offices are at one of our church buildings so we see a large number of the missionary cars in the parking lot at times as that is where they will be when new vehicles are purchased, or existing vehicles are being sold/retired, or are awaiting assignment. FYI a good majority of the missionaries do not get to drive vehicles, but rather walk/ride bikes.

The small 4X4 trucks and SUVs generally go to the senior/retired folks who are serving missions for the Church, and those serving in areas that require 4WD (wintertime) most of the fleet is made up of cars though such as the Crapota Corrola, (ex-wife got a 2008 Corrola used mission car, has been ok for her aside from a few minor engine issues, but I still hated that piece of crap and how cheap it felt and how small it was) they are big on the Chevy Cruze, Ford Hocus Focus, (not so much anymore) they were big users of the Malibu until this recent re-design in 2013 then went over to the Cruze, and they even have a few Subaru Impreza sedans in the fleet now. I've also seen one or two of the Nissan Frontiers (which they picked up when GM stopped selling the Colorado a few years ago) They use a full sized Ford Van for shuttling purposes, and have a Silverado 4X4 with the 5.3L to tow an enclosed trailer that hauls luggage, bikes, and stuff all around the mission territory, which is a fairly large area to cover, with lots of territory in the mountains. They have a member of the mission staff who's responsibility is the fleet, ensuring that maintenance gets done and who gets what and where, coordinating getting new vehicles, and selling the old ones.
