I love my AFE look but I wish it was just louder.. I may sell mine. Not sure yet.

I'm interested as well. I contacted AFE direct and they will sell me the exhaust with the black tip for $450 shipped (match amazons prices). If you can sell it shipped for less than that i just may buy yours.

Thanks Half_ton!! Day 3 with the AFE on. Really does sound good. My only two complaints are 1- muffler rubs hanger bushing and 2- the Tip is a bit too large and sticks out past the tires. I like the sleeper look and it's my work vehicle, so I would of personally done a 3.5" chrome tip in OEM fashion. V4 mode sucks under 50mph. no drone, just doesn't sound really good. High speed V4 (60, 70, 80) is non-detectable and by far not an issue. Which IMO, is the most important. Who wants to make a 8hr work trip and hear drone.

^ Same thing with mine. As far as cutting the tailpipe, I already thought of that. Won't work. The tip clamps to a flared out section about 2" long. I already have it slid back as far as possible. If I cut the tailpipe, I'd lose that flared out section and the tip would be too large to clamp to the 3" main pipe. I would have to cut the 2" flare section off the end of the tailpipe and then get a new tip that is meant to clamp onto 3" pipe. Believe the flared out section is 3.5". Tip is 4" or 4.5" at the end.

I think at the end of the day I'm going to cut the 2" long 3.5" flared section off the tailpipe, get a new generic looking tip that will clamp onto the 3" pipe. Have a local muffler shop extend the outboard hanger 1/2" so it's not rubbing the bushing and the muffler will then be level, and move on in life. I don't see any other option. If I don't step in here I have an exhaust that's rubbing and I don't care for the large sticking out tip.

Looked at everything again tonight. Tip is fine, i just haven't had a car with an aftermarket tip in a few years. So the tip is staying. Everything is fitting perfect and I re-tightened everything after a week of driving. Nothing was lose. But my hunch of the muffler not sitting level and the bushing rubbing is correct... if they cut the hanger bar, put it in the same horizontal plane as the inboard hanger the muffler would sit level and it wouldn't rub. At the end of the day that's the only issue with this system.

COMMON AFE. GET BACK TO ME WITH A SOLUTION. SEND ME OUT A MUFFLER WITH THE OUTBOARD HANGER PROPERLY DESIGNED/INSTALLED AS I'VE FIGURED OUT FOR YOU. I'LL PACK UP MY CURRENT MUFFLER AND STICK IT BACK IN THE BOX AND PUT YOUR PRE-PAID SHIPPING LABEL ON IT AND SEND IT BACK TO YOU. THAT IS THE SOLUTION. Not sure what you're waiting for. I brought this issue up for you, there are other cases confirmed. I figured out why on your end it's happening. I'm evening willing to do the labor and swap the muffler out and do all this with a smile. I'm basically doing your R&D for free. You should send me something for helping you guys out. How about a set of '07 BMW 335i air scoops in black for my R&D Fee. Aftermarket parts are like this. We're all working toward the perfect parts. Win win guys.

Still nothing from AFE. Jeez. I'm glad it's not a big problem. I'd be up the creek. Few week followup. MPG's are pushing 21 now averaging to the tank. it's unreal. sound got a bit quieter. Love the sound. Aside from rubbing the bushing, spot on the money kids. Not obnoxious but it's there when you get on it. I can't believe a cat-back yielded this much mpg gain. I think GM left a lot on the table with the OEM system in terms of mpg. Maybe it would cost them too much to get the flow and still eliminate the noise/drone. I'm whooping the pants off my wife's '15 2wd enclave in terms of MPG's. not even close. I've been hauling rebar, furniture, goosing the heck out out it and still get over 20. Maybe it's the M1 oil? AFE? or the rear end gear lube being changed out at 16k by the dealer? not sure... but I went from 18.5 to the tank to now 20-21. And probably drive it harder b/c I like the exhaust and hate the V4 mode.
