Chevy Cheyenne Concept?

I just saw an article in the Truck Trend magazine. The bulbous look of the concept truck doesn't offend me much, as well as any technical innovations. However there some things I don't like:

1: The whole dashboard has too much of a retro look, including the instrument panel, hvac controls.

2:The truck is too tall, I hope it just appears that way.

3: The head, and the tailights need some reworking.

4: The shape of the Crew cab rear window too much car like

5: The front fender bulge between the bumper and the wheel looks too much like the Toyota's truck.

6: The grill doesn't appeal to me.

7: Too much frame around the side windows.

Things I would like to see:

1: Return to padded dashboard and and inner door panels. These touchy, feely things are subconciously important, hey and they got to feel good. Maybe GMs rationalization for cost cutting was that the truck has air bags anyway. Imagine resting your elbow on the doors hard plastic, slippery, and cold inner panel.

2: If the trucks had a power step, it sure would be easier to persuade the wife to buy another truck.

3: The frontal look of the trucks till 2002 models is great. Just tweek it a little, if you really want to.

4. The 2004 Fords finally are beginning to look better for next year. I hope GM is not going to screw up their future good looks.

5. The quadrasteer is fine, but please leave it as an option only.

6. Adjustable rear suspension for the 1 tons. Pure air bag suspension.

7. Like the plastic rear quarter panels on the dually. Why not plastic panels for the doors and the front fender?

8. Love the Allison Tranny.

9. The seats are great don't change anything (2001 K3500 CC LT)

10. Clearance lights I wish they were changed back to 5 individual lights exactly like the 1991-2000 trucks.

Well, I like too tall trucks lol, but don't like one's where the beds are what make up the height, make the bed a little shallower and well, basically change the whole design, that side door is rather stupid. It can be worked with, but definately the whole truck needs a major reworking. I don't have the pic in front of me to pick apart. I will admit it's less offensive than the current models looks though.

I like the concept, not as much as the current Silverados though. I haven't completly made up my mind yet.

I hope they go with that design..the 03's look really whimpy - Not too bad for 1500 but the HD's dont nearly as good as the 02's. If they add a 'bump' to the hood on the 03's ala 02's - then they might get back a few of their lost buyers.

As for the 04 Fords - Diffinetly like that look...Ford is expecting to sell 1 million F-series next year !! - GM has to do something ????????
