Lots of people disagree with you colossus. 2014 impala is the best selling top recommended large car in the US over Avalon. You're entitled to your opinion....Duly noted!

You do realize that 90% of it's sales are to fleets... aka rental cars? Also the sales figures are reflecting both the new Impala (2014+ model) and the Impala Classic (9th gen design that they are carrying over also for fleets and police use) The rental fleets are using both designs. Thing is.. it's main competition, the Taurus, has sales that are mostly fleet as well. (Rental & Police and company cars) The Avalon is not used in any rental fleets that I know of. (I do a ton of traveling and rent a lot of cars)

I travel as well....Avalons are used as well in the premium categories. I don't have a problem with responding to differences of opinion.....that's what makes being apart of forum a good think....iron sharpens iron. That said, I think that you need to check your stats, the new Impalas have only been out two models years and the info. you used was based totally on the old body style, not combined. If you have statistical data or info. from a magazine that gave you that information....i'd love to see it. I did plenty of research on the car before I bought it. Consumer Guide, Car and Driver, Motor Trend....on and on......they talked of its sales being that with the previous generation not the current and regardless.....it doesn't make it a bad car. To each is on.....I'M a fanatic about almost anything made in America, especially GM.

The numbers you see of Impala sales is the classic AND the 9th gen combined. Because technically both are the same model year, until GM discontinues the classic model completely (aka the 8th gen) There are no hard numbers listed anywhere that specifically show just how many of the new 2015 9th Generation Impala are being sold vs the new 2015 8th Generation Impala. The police departments and rental car fleets are a HUGE user of the 8th Gen still, (The police package is only offered in the 8th gen and not the 9th gen) and every month thousands of them are sent off to the fleets which I am POSITIVE account for the majority of the total number of impala sales. I GUARANTEE that the number you see below is mostly made up of the 8th Gen. The 9th Gen is just not that popular, I rarely see it in the various parts of the country I travel to, save for Florida, parts of California, and other southern states. And EVERY one I have PERSONALLY seen has been driven by some old geezer. I see the 8th Gen Impalas all over the place, (I'm talking the newer 8th gens from 2012 on up) either with a small antenna on the roof (unmarked police car) or the majority of them with the barcode stickers in the rear wing windows that are rental fleets, and with rental stickers and fleet plates. My point in all of this? I am quite certain that the new 9th gen Impala sales are very weak vs the compitition when they don't combine the sales of the 8th gen and 9th gen which are sold as the same model year and same name. My best guess if they did seperate the numbers would be between 2000-4000 of the new 9th gens sold a month. If someone wants to prove me wrong, I will gladly stand corrected and submit to.. well.. I'll buy you a drink how's that. All of this is said in good fun, I mean no offense, I just stand strongly behind this silly issue we have created :)

I had the Pontiac version of this (2009.5 G8 GXP) and loved it. Plenty of mods for them, Pedders and several other companies make upgraded suspension bushings for them. Be prepared the front strut bushings are prone to collapse and failure, if they do skip the OEM bushing and go with the polyureathane versions instead.

I put a CAI kit on mine along with a Magnaflow X-pipe and magnaflow mufflers. With some tuning I put down 370rwhp out of mine, that along with the suspension work and the car handled like it was on rails. Surprised many people in just how quick it was domestic and import alike.
