What do you carry for your CCW?

Same here. My shield can be concealed with my 511 pants and polo I wear for work. Mostly. If I bend over, it may show a bit. I use no holster and a normal Carhartt leather belt

Thankfully most of the population is oblivious. Also you're lucky and live in an actual OC state. I need to start wearing pants again so I can go back to CC'n my wheelies.

I like my G32 but my next hope/dream is a VP9 subcompact. Love the full size but it's just a tiny bit too big to carry. The HK trigger blows Glock away.

I have several guns but don't carry. I don't feel the need to. I support the rights of anyone who does though. Please tell me why you carry? Is it based on crime in your area or your job?

I didn't carry til I started my business and usually have a bank bag with cash.

Basically, I want to maximize the potential that I live a nice long life, I'm not gonna let some thug take any of the time off of my clock. Equally important is I have a family who depends on me to be there for them I'm certainly not going to not come home to them every night if I can help it. I carry for the same reason I wear a seat belt.

Living in central illinois in the sticks there is very little crime. I do have a shotgun and handgun loaded at the house and usually take a gun on vacation when driving

Crime is a relative term... there's no way to know if you're gonna be the statistic... believe me, I'm an engineer so probability is always in the forefront of my mind... I debated life insurance until I had kids... but it comes down to being prepared and controlling what you can (or at least attempt to) control.

Everything I've read about self protection talks about "a high percentage of carry"... meaning, you increase your probability of being "prepared" by carrying at a high percentage... makes sense. But carrying is only part of it. You still need to be trained... and even then you may not be ready.

True. You also must be willing to kill which if I or my family were threatened I would do it without regret. I believe for myself being raised around guns, hunting and shooting for the last 40 plus years has prepared me more than the 16 hour cc course required in my state
