In my spare time, I build Model Kits as a way to channel my creativity (I can't draw, or play a musical instrument or dance) and here is a picture of my latest project:

I'm also a bit of a Collector of Diecast and Plastic Models, and here's a picture of my small (but very diverse) collection:

I'm actually curious if anyone else on here collects Diecast models, or Builds model kits like I do; if you do, please share a picture of your projects and your collections!

Nice stuff you've got there. Personally I've got enough locomotive ornaments to fill 2 Christmas trees. Always been big into train stuff.

027 size. I dont know the build date, but this particular model is a Pennsylvania railroad steam engine model and was only available in 1950 and 1951

I haven't assembled a plastic model in more than a few years. I have Clippers, trucks, muscle cars, hot rods, touring cars, NASCAR, and Hot Wheels. Both in die cast and plastic. My favorite muscle car and hot rod collections has since been destroyed by my boys, but I still have enough to keep me busy if or when I get back into it. I'll take a few pictures when I get the chance.

In my 30s (20+ years ago) I did some plastic model building. Not much, but I built some 1/48 scale WW2 planes with a focus on my airbrush work, paint mixing, and weathering. I was pretty proud of those. They got damaged over the years and I tossed them eventually. About the same time, I did a lot of RC airplane work and flying. Some WW2 planes, some non-scale. I miss that RC flying. I also sometimes miss flying the real stuff. I haven't flown real airplanes in about 5-6 years. Last one was P-51. https://youtu.be/GfWZnq336P8

Here are a few I've done. I haven't built any new ones in quite a while and used to have a lot more but they have been broken over the years.

I have a bunch of models that my grandpa built in the 50-70s as well that are really cool (all planes).

I also have a whole bunch of HO scale trains that were my grandpa's as well (mostly Bachmann's, I think)

I did when I was a kid. 1:18 scale, pulled them out when my boys turned two.....they didn't last long(wheels broken off). But they did enjoy them.

But, there is one I have kept. Unfortunately my boys knocked it down one day and the mirror broke off passenger door. So its not worth much. 85f90f6e2b27a2e48ddf6441e7de6239.jpg

And yes that's Nebula class on top. Bought a bunch of Star Trek models for when my boys are older to play with. They love watching the "ener-rise" go to warp.

When I was younger I was into building models. Used to try and get all of the new GM trucks and cars. I would love to still be able to sit down and build them again I just don't have the time. If things ever calm down at work I will definitely get back into it, it's relaxing.

I have noticed with the Model Kit Manufacturers that they usually cut off with the '99 GMT800s, and you NEVER see any GMT900s either in Model Kit OR Diecast form.
