WireBender
I was wondering if anyone knows where to get repair manuals for the 2014 Silverado. I always had a Chilton or a Haynes manual for my other vehicles but I can't seem to find one for anything after 2013. Are they not out yet? SouthernSilveradoGuy85
I guess it's too new. I've been checking on the Haynes site but haven't seen one. I haven't checked Chilton yet, but I've always had Haynes and I'm brand loyal 99% of the time lol.
The Zip
Chilton and Haynes are classic, I always keep a greasy one in the garage. I guess it's all about how much you want to pay. Click the below link, Helm offers a hard copy manual for 350 bucks. That's about 7 times the cost for the classic service manual. If you decide to buy, call first to ensure what you are getting. http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2.asp?Make=CHV&Model=&Year=&Category=&class_2=CHV&mk=Chevrolet+%26+Geo&yr=All+Years&md=&dt=&module=&from=result&Style=helm&Sku=GMT14CERPU&itemtype=N Edited March 21, 2015 by The Zip
WireBender
I thought they would be available by now but, maybe not. They have a lot of good information that is nice to have when working on your vehicle (torque specs, capacities, etc.). I saw the one from Helm but that is a little expensive for what I need. I will have to keep looking.
MNDaveC
I got a subscription to AllData ... although not as nice as having a meaty shop manual around.
redwngr
Helm is the distributor of manuals for many OEM's. They are not an 'aftermarket' version.
Al Ormston
Amazon has the 2018 Sierra/Silverado repair manual but is only available in UK... Pretty stupid. The trucks are built in north America and they sell the repair manual in UK. I guess we north Americans aren't allowed to save ourselves some money. The dealer where I bought my truck charges $120/hr. Oh by the way, it doesn't ship to Canada or USA. Nice, eh? Al Ormston, Cobourg, ON. davester
It likely isn't Amazon, just whatever reseller happens to be in the UK, and doesn't want to deal with exporting outside the EU. I would suggest either searching amazon & ebay (and perhaps craigslist/kijiji as well) for them if you really want the paper version cheap. Or find someone who has friends or family in the UK & have them ship it to you. 2014, 5.3, 4x4, work truck
davester
You might also consider the online subscription at a site like alldatadiy.com. It's not particularly expensive (around $50 for 5 years I think). I know I don't like using a computer/tablet when I'm all greasy while working on the truck, but it should be a little easier to jump back and forth between different sections of the manual (many procedures specify procedures in other parts of the manual to do, so you're jumping back and forth), and it may be a little easier to search, as I've sometimes found it difficult to determine where in the manual a specific is handled, and sometimes they use a word for a part that you don't know (for example, a jounce on my truck are both the rubber bumpers that press against the front lower a-arms, and the brake hose from the frame to the rear axle). You can print out the procedures you use....
Slvijoe
Go on EBay, that’s where I bought mine for my 2017 Silverado. It’s $25 and comes in the form of a CD , and covers EVERYTHING. You can print out a page too and bring it to your work area. It’s over 350 pages on your individual truck. Its a replica of the real shop manual.
