Hey guys,

been lurking on this site for over a year now and finally decided to start a build thread since I want to document my progress. I bought my 2014 silverado double cab a year ago (feb 2014) after owning 2 F150's over 8 years and have been very happy so far. here are a couple pics of the day i drove it off the lot

its an LT package plus so it has all the upgrades like leather, big touch screen and heated seats. just doesnt have the LTZ trim peices (which i would have removed anyways). it also has the 5.3L with 3.73 gears.

I swore I was perfectly happy with the way the truck was, but it was long before i got the itch to start modifying. my plan is to make it a clean looking truck.

I have already done some modifications in the past year and will post the progression when i get the pictures loaded.

my first order of business was to get the front end off the ground.... these chevys are so nose heavy I couldnt stand it. Ive always had lifted trucks and new i wanted to lift this one but i didnt want to hack up my brand new truck and put a big lift on it just yet. So i went with the rough country 2.5 lift, this way it would get the nose up and could easily return it to stock if i had to.

while i was under there i also removed the front air dam. i like the look of it a lot better and it brings the body line up to match the rockers.

with a little bit of spare time on the weekend I was able to remove the rear 4x4 sticker. It just didnt go with the truck and i want to make it look clean. It was very easy to remove, as long as you have a hair dryer or heat gun (in this case my wifes hair dryer... shhh dont tell).

I also plasti dipped my front and rear chevy emblem black. that stuff is great! and holds up suprisingly well!

After riding around for about a year on the 2.5 lift I wanted to start to go up a little higher, but wasnt ready for a full blown lift kit. So i decided to try out the RC 3.5 lift with the upper control arms.

this is it after putting the front in and still have the 1" block from the 2.5 kit out back.

I still would like to go a little higher so i am trying to decide to do either the 1.25 body lift, or swap the 3.5 for the 5" full susprension lift. I know there are a lot of negative reviews about the 3.5 kit so I am seeing how it will hold up and how fast my lower ball joints and tie rod ends will wear.

Also I completely removed all emblems, I love the look!
