Well, today i saw the most expensive stock new Ford Expedition ever. A 2015 4X4 Platinum extended edition with the "Eco bust" engine. $ 66,000 and change!!!!!!!! And that was the factory sticker without any add-ons by the dealer.

There was a nice 2015 diesel F350 crew cab 4X4 XLT (Lariat?) with single rear wheels parked not far from it with a $ 62.5k sticker and it was discounted to $ 51k. I would much rather have that truck than the Expedition. it was not Platinum edition, but it was pretty loaded and a much more versatile vehicle too. Not to mention much better resale value.

GM full size SUVs aren't any different.

It's simple, especially now a days. The bigger the cab or cabin is the more crab that has to go in them. And when I say crap I just mean all the electronic stuff and wiring. Even when I was looking at a truck a Crew Cab short bed was about 5K more than my Double cab with the standard bed. So I didn't even look into the cost of a Crew Cab standard bed over the Double cab. I said I'm good with the Double cab, I don't have kids or anything anyways. I could even get by with a regular cab but I didn't want a base trim and also I like having the back seat to put some stuff that I'd rather now put in the bed. I mean like bags, groceries and whatever else I would get in and out of the cab.

Is that expedition still based on their crap platform that's like 10 years old? If so, that's a disgrace. At least the GM platform is new

Yes it is. The only change is some sheet metal, some interior updates, and no more V8 AT ALL

That doesn't surprise me. I have nothing against the Ecoboost as an engine and option. But I've said on here before that I don't like how Ford is pushing it so much that they're going to make it so it's the ONLY option and no naturally aspirated V8 like a lot of people want. I figured that's what would happen because of them putting the Ecoboost in the new Raptor concept and then in the GT (GT40). If they gave it as just an option then it wouldn't be a huge deal to me. I bet within 5-10 years you won't see any naturally aspirated V8s as any option in any market rather it's the F series, Mustang or anything else that now have V8s.

66k is actually a small pricetag compared to the new Tahoe i saw on the lot for almost 90k! I should have taken a picture...

I seen an LTZ when they first came out at $72K

I'm guessing you haven't seen a 2015 Yukon Denali sticker.

Here you can get a very nice 06 escalade ESV platinum with every feature for about 15-16K with 115K miles. I think thats a fair price considering the 06 z71 suburban with the same miles will sell for about 12K.

Well, none of this changes the fact that this $ 66k Expedition is the most expensive Expedition to date. I remember when they first came out in mid 90's and a well optioned XLT 4X4 had a sticker of about $26k.

Gas was $1.00/gallon in the mid 90's; milk was $2.50ish/gallon. Things are more expensive now; that's just how it is. It sucks, but that's just how it is. 10 years ago, we all would have laughed at the thought of spending $50k on a truck....yet, here we are.

that's pretty much my own opinion about EcoBoost, its a good engine, with good Tech, but with Ford pretty much Shoehorning it into EVERY SINGLE Platform they have aside from the Super Duty, and hyping it to the point where they think its the best thing since Sliced bread, they will eventually Alienate the performance Oriented Ford Owner (because ; which GM and Chrysler will welcome with Open arms!
