What did I do to my truck today...

Figured it out:

801: 1080 and g-force and GPS

803: 1296 and no sensors

895: 1296 and g-force and GPS

All have 1.5" Screen

None have motion detection. SD card depends on seller, bit most charge too much extra to include one. All have 135 degree field of view. Been around a while and lots of reviews. Pretty small.

Falcon Zero has all the sensors, a 10 foot power cord, and 32GB SD card, and 170° field of view. Pretty new, not many reviews. 2.5" screen. Small enough to hide behind most rearview mirrors.

It can be set to detect motion, and using the built in battery, will record a 10 second clip, lock the video, and then shut back down.

I think I'll get very big power pack and run the cord to glovebox.

I got the insurance estimate. $1,900.00 damage....Fender...headlight..inner fender liner, front bumper end cap and support bracket.

Of course they will also have to blend the door, so they will replace the moldings and new lettering on the doors.

I have a client that owns a body shop who can do the work, and he said he will not charge me the deductable, so that will save me some money. Then, since I don't have rental coverage, he said once he has the truck painted, I can drop off the rental car, take my truck home, and bring it back the next day for them to buff it out, saving me a day car rental.

I called the insurance co and they still have no insurance information on the other driver....they never returned their call yet. The license plate tracing they are doing hasn't returned with any ownership or insurance carrier. They will check on that and may run it again.

If they determine that the other driver does not have insurance, my insurance will refund my deductable.

Thats illegal, not charging a deductible because the body shop is over charging the insurance company

The insurance co is the one that determined what to pay. The insurance company pays the amount of the bill less the deductable. I have to pay the deductable to the shop along with the check the insurance co sends. The body shop is just going along with it. Since the owner knows me, he is being nice and getting $500.00 less for this job. So I don't think there is anything ilegal about reducing how much he is getting paid. Remember the bodyshop did not make the estimate, the insurance co did and they are only paying for the work needed to be done according to the Mitchell estimating system they use at their claims office. I am pretty sure the insurance co cut it to the bone so as not to pay so much.
