Toyota 4Runner, went to the dark side.

Well guys, I looked at an '06 4Runner V8 SR5 4x4 today. I test drove it and liked it very well! Drove smooth and the power is very smooth, while shifting throughout all the gears. Plenty of power and it's quiet. Only has 85k on it.

Liked it so much, that I bought it today! It's titanium, very good shape. No dents, no scratches, and no paint chips. It's been an one owner and every service was through a Toyota dealership. I like it a lot.

Plans are to debadge, window tint, hids, better HU, amp and some subs. It doesn't have the JBL stamped anywhere inside. So, I should be good on that part. Has Michelin LTX tires on it right now with 3/4th thread on it. Plenty of life left. After they wear out, I might get some new wheels along with Nitto TG G2s, Toyo PTs, ATs, or MTs, or the new BF Goodrich KO 2s. Along with the TRD pro or Fuel wheels.

I've been a lot of Research on these lately, came close getting a Tahoe. I just decided not too. Just wanna try something different out. Plus, I had no idea where to post this and hopefully I won't get hell going to a Toyota product. Haha

Will still come here often, next truck will be a brand new truck. But I really like this vehicle. Here are the pics....

Looks super clean bud! Not my cup of tea but I'm not the one driving it either. I'm excited to see the mods.

Yeah, I love it so far. Put over 700 miles since the day I bought it. Went to Columbus, Ohio for the Arnold Classic. I went through a lot of snow/sleet and slush. This vehicle does great in the snow. Better then my truck did.

I can't wait till it warms up!!

Hey, I have a 'yota too. Mine just happens to be a smaller more agile version lol. I think they are decently built products and last a while. At least, mine has made it this far with no major work lol.

4Runner looks great...and they are fun to build up too!

Here are a couple of mine:

My kid's 2004 and my 2014:

Ironically enough, as much fun as I have had trailing with the 4Runner, I miss my full sized trucks so seriously thinking about a 2015 GMC All Terrain 6,2L.

What is your opinion on those Cooper ST Maxx tires your running? I am considering getting some of those.

Only complaint I have heard so far is they are dangerous on wet pavement, lock up on braking, slip on acceleration.

Once you drive one it's hard not to love it. I noticed the other night that my temp controls and the screen above it are dark. Need to figure out how to replace the bulbs.

It's so strange seeing one of those so clean. Best friend has one and it always looks like, and is, a trash can on the inside. Roll the rear window down and a 12' kayak fits in there with only a few feet hanging out the back. 2nd one gets tied down to the racks up top. Congrats.

I'm still liking my 4Runner a lot, I do miss having a truck. Probably like 5 years or so, I might get another one. So, far I've debadged the side emblems. Still debating to do both emblems on the back, still undecided on it. Got my grille in the other day, gonna install it this weekend. Interior lights are a lot brighter & license plate lights are too. Thinking about getting the Stealth Custom Wheels.
