Some other brands that make the Under drive Pulley as well. SLP part# 100230A

If SLP is like they were in the past, they don't make the pulley. It is made by Powerbond out of Australia.

Not in concert.... It would slow the Blower down!

Requires overdriving the whipple. I never thought of an underdrive crank pulley before. I guess i assumed GM put the pulley on there to maximize cooling and charging efficiency. Anyone making an electric water pump? lol

I'm not so sure you could get a pulley that small to compensate for loss of boost...then you would have serious belt slipping issues, remember the smaller the pulley the less surface contact area not to mention a lot of money and work for a crank pulley.

Whipple does make some really small pullys but idk....

Slowing everything down doesnt seem safe to me.... Never ran one before but that cant be keeping everything else in spec

I put an underdriven pulley on my 91 502 SS truck and it sucked.... the alternator would not charge at idle and the lights dimmed at idle and brightened up above that. Even the quick ratio power steering was sluggish.... I hate them and will never do another one. Did I say underdriven pulleys suck!

I have a question, would installing an under drive pulley void the factory warranty?

You bet.... If anything goes wrong they can pretty much bkame it on the pully. Its smaller then spec and they will link it to slower spinning components at fault.

Sterring goes kaput.... Oh the slower spinning pully couldn't keep up so it over heated.

Engine goes kabang.... Well the crank could have been off balance.

Alternator doesn't charge.... Yeppp that pully under spins the alt so it won't charge.

You stubbed your small toe on the kitchen table barefoot??..... It was the pullys fault.

Lol

I have ran UD pulleys on my 1989 Formula, 2001 Formula, 2006 GTO, 2008 Trailblazer SS and never had a issue with any of them, prob have 250k miles on vehicles with UD pulley's on them. My plan was to add one to my 2014 Sierra, but that is on hold until I find out what I am going to do with the truck. Waiting to hear back from GM right now.

Most pulleys include a card that gives you the Gates belt size to use with their pulley. Also some kits can be had as a 2 pulley kit that will also come with the alternator pulley so you don't have charging issues.

This is one of those things that costs GM nothing yet they specifically decided on the speed at which these items need to rotate at.

You have to wonder why on earth they would choose those rotational speeds, and that there most certainly has to be a downside of some sort.
