Dealership Service Dept. Strikes Again.......

The silver lining is that they actually are trying to make it right. Did they try to do so up front?....no. It's good to see that they are at least going to "fix" their mistake.

As far as the oil goes, I'll bet there was a disclaimer on your voucher that said synthetic costs extra....but they still should have told you up front.

I would definitely file a complaint with the BBB over the battery issue. The other incidents can easily happen anywhere, but there is no excuse for blatant lying.

Hope you get it fixed soon!

Just received another call from the dealership service dept. They ordered the complete sway bar kit, it will be in Monday. Includes bar, endlinks, and all bushings.

Glad they took responsibility for their mistake but it still stinks that this happened. They are also replacing the entire negative battery cable with terminal connection since they damaged mine and stripped the bolt.

Doesn't mean much to me but the service manager also said he is sending the tech. that performed the work (caused damage) for training.

Not sure what that includes and a little late now but if it prevents him from causing damage to someone else's vehicle I am all for it.

I did not mention it earlier but I have dealt with this dealership for every vehicle purchase I ever made. It's the same dealership my entire family uses and this has been the first negative experience with them ever over 20 years dealing with them. I would post their information but seeing that it was a new employee who made the mistake, and they stepped up to make it right, I don't want to give them a black eye over this one incident over that amount of time.

They also offered State inspection for all 3 of my vehicles for as long as I own them but I declined. I am just not willing to allow anything like this to happen again. Thankfully my oil level is correct, at least they didn't mess that up.

I will be picking my parts up Monday afternoon, hopefully everything arrives as promised. I guess I will find out when I get there.

I do as much of my own work as I possibly can. The only thing that scares me about these newer vehicles is electronic work, which is getting more and more difficult all the time.

Other than that, I do everything myself, maintenance, repairs, you name it. I know I won't screw myself over, and I can drive the vehicle with confidence after knowing exactly what was done, and how.

I had a similar experience with my wife's 2013 Equinox.

I took it to a dealership for an alignment under warranty. Vehicle was damaged and alignment wasn't done right.

I complained.

I filled out a service questionaire, which was sent directly to corporate GM.

I received a call from GM within 24 hours kissing my ass and wanting to make it right. They knew I was pissed and they offered me everything but a new vehicle.

6 months later that dealership was closed and bought out by another major Chevy dealer.

Evidently I wasn't the only one who had problems.

"Training" won't likely do much. The manufacturer training is either new model specific so techs can learn about new systems/tech on that vehicle or more generic subsystem training. Manufacturer training assumes the techs attending aren't chumps and that they already know the basics. Him telling you the tech is getting additional training isn't a lie technically, but it's also not something that'll solve anything either,

It amazes me that we can all rant about a bad experience at a DealerShip but no one will put the name of the dealership on here so maybe it does not happen to some one else.

A guy at work bought a 2013 that was said to have nav. It didnt, so he took it back and persuaded them to install one. The ran the new wires across the dash, through the door jam, over the a pillar, and under the hood......instead of through the firewall. I can't post his reply when he saw it [emoji1]

I read an article just recently that was stating private repair shops are actually more reliable, with more professionalism, than the dealerships. Honestly, with the exception of a small number of dealerships, I believe it. People ASSUME that taking their vehicle to the dealer means it will be done perfectly.

Honestly, other than electrical, I find my 2011 Silverado very easy to work on. There is PLENTY of room under the hood and underneath the truck. Now, if I had a car, it may be a different story. Anyone else find the NNBS trucks really easy to work on?

Someone who never jacked-up a car or disconnected battery cables may need to be trained, but someone working in a "garage" so to speak, if they need to be trained they are in the wrong job, c'mon.

I agree with kilbornf, the service department royally screwed-up then made everything good after a complaint, all that info (good and bad) need to be on blast. Just through luck blackz71silverado didn't get hurt or killed. Could have been a different story with someone not as savvy.

I remember when we had to take in our Silverado to have the Cats Replaced Under Warranty, and the Clowns at Alexander Chevrolet-Buick-GMC wrecked the Rear Exhaust Clamp that attaches the Cats to the rest of the Exhaust system to where it Rattled BADLY; needless to say I wan't very happy AT ALL when I had to crawl underneath to install an aftermarket clamp over the Factory one.

When it comes to My Little Aveo However, that's where I REALLY Get MAD! Last July, I went to Alexander to have my Downstream Oxygen Sensor Replaced, and got charged $544.90, which for an unemployed Vocational Student, is REALLY EXPENSIVE. I got Charged for $250 in LABOR ALONE, the Part iself was $235, and then the State of Tennessee had to have its $50 cut! a few months later, i discover my Water Pump is leaking; I call Alexander to get an Estimate, and it would be a BLOW FOR BLOW REPEAT of Last July! the LABOR ALONE would Cost $300, the Part a little more sensible $165, and again a $50 cut from the State of Tennessee. (needless to say, after I politely hung up the phone, I BLEW A HEAD GASKET, because again: Broke Unemployed Vocational Student.)

needless to say, I'm NEVER going Back to Alexander for Service; because everyone known that Most Dealerships would rather Sell you a New Car or Truck, put you in MOUNTAINS of Debt, and dump your old car or Truck on some unsuspecting sucker who can't afford a new Car or Truck.
