Recommended Posts

So I got my oil change and tire rotation which I'm stoked about. And service center was going to throw in a free carwash and inside cleaning all I do is pay for material. Can't beat 10 bucks.

Well what about all the bugs splattered on my front grille? I guess 10 bucks I really can't complain too much. But then I see two pea size grease spots on my top interior by the handle on driver side. It kind of pissed me off but too small to raise a big stink over.

Just want to get this off my chest and remember don't let these guys do more than what you taking the truck to them for!

Lesson learned

Well the bugs can sometimes be hard to get off and they might not have even messed with the grille when washing. As for the grease spots as long as they wiped off then not a big deal. I still might have said something to the service writer or supervisor just so they knew to tell the guys to watch what they get dirty. Especially a new truck.

They didn't offer a car wash and interior detail when I went in for my first oil change and tire rotation. But when I bought the truck the detail guys had already got off so I had to bring it back a couple days later for the detail. Well they did more than I expected. They washed it, cleaned all the crap off all the glass from the stickers and did a interior detail. So far I haven't had any problems with my dealer and luckily it's in the town I live in.

Well. That's why the bugs didn't bother me.

But the grease spots won't come off. They are on the fabric on the top of cab. I assume they were trying to use the handle that is there when entering and exiting vehicle. Also a grease smudge on visor. And all my interior on upper part of cab is gray. Sucks but don't think that is worth the trouble of bringing up..

I'll call Tuesday. Didn't see it until I went to go get my wife some roses. I really didn't want to try and wipe it off because it may make it worse. And they are pea size. But were not there. And I hate to complain when this was obviously an accident..

Well being pea size it was probably after they changed the oil which means they didn't wipe their hands good enough. I wouldn't say it was a full accident. Bad thing now is that there's a chance they won't believe you since you left so they might think it happened somewhere else.

Yeah that is true. Well this was first time I have even had my oil changed. Actually it is the frat service done to the vehicle ever. It only has 5000 miles.

I will see what they say. It's my local dealer and more than likely I will take it there again no matter what they say on grease spots. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.

Just one of those many reasons that I am glad I live far enough away from the dealer, and my schedule is such, that going to the dealer for regular oil change stuff doesn't happen. Not with my 2013 nor my new 2015. I just do them myself and know it is done properly.

That's true cowpie. This is the first time I have ever taken my vehicle in anywhere to get an oil change. So this may be a normal consequence? But I can not see myself changing my oil on my new vehicle when they told me I get two years free oil change. I'm attaching photo

I make sure the service advisor knows this fact:

I AM ANAL ABOUT MY TRUCK! I will be checking everything when I get the truck back, and before I sign off. That includes oil dripped on the engine and/or finger prints on anything.

He personally talks to the guy doing the service and I've never had a problem.

(I have good reasons for being this way.)

I understand not wanting to seem like a jerk, but sometimes you have to stick up for yourself. If nobody said anything when a company, dealer, shop or whatever makes a mistake then they might do the same to the next person. It's like a domino effect sometimes. I mean I've taken my old 98 and 86 to shops and they've left grease spots on the hood or somewhere. But, I never said anything only because I was able to wipe it all off myself. But, if there would have been grease fingerprints on the interior or somewhere that wouldn't come off then I would have complained.
