2015 Chevy Slate Grey Metallic & GMC Light Steel Gray Metallic

Recommended Posts

Hello - just joined the forum. I'm in the market for a 2015 1500 - I have waded through all of the options etc. and even have made a price deal with my local salesman. My only holdup is the color choices, not great for the 2015 year in my estimation. I stumbled upon the slate grey metallic but have not been able to find any *actual* pictures (other than those posted here). Does anyone have one or know of one and could post additional pictures?

Note - the Chevrolet website 'build and price' tool (when selecting the 1500) shows that slate grey to be a very dark color, when you select the 2500 however, the color is similar to what is posted here. I'm concerned that without seeing one in person, I may be disappointed in that color choice. Chat with Chevrolet experts did not help as they simply assured me that the color depicted in the 2500 build would be the actual color.

GMC calls that paint code Light Steel Gray Metallic

- might mean the lighter color is more accurate.

Too much blue in that slate gray for me. I wonder if they'll ever bring back graystone metallic or the medium charcoal gray metallic from the early 2000's. I loved that color.

Yeah I was hoping it would be more grey as well. I was a sucker for Greystone!

Found a couple at the dealer. $495 for a primer Gray look? No thanks GM!

These pics were taken first thing in the morning, and the color actually looks better in the pics than being there.

Lmao ya I don't know wtf gm is doing charging extra for any color other then diamond is total be, at this point they should charge for every color lol, maybe they could apply some more paint then lmao, if anything one would think they would charge extra for Sonoma red, or iridium, the real metallic colors, not the flat colors

Looks photoshopped. The headlights, license plate, wheels, windows, and mirrors have the green tint to it.

well yea it's photo shopped but the truck is actually high lighter yellow. It's a work truck model. Is the down side. It's a guy's wife's truck on our 2014 Silverado fb page. Edited by 2014Sandylifted
