Help me soften up z85 suspension

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I have a 2013 single cab short bed 4 wd. It has the z85 rpo code. It rides pretty rough on the highway even for a pickup. I've been studying the different rear shocks for the z85 (trailering) , and the z83 (smooth ride) packages. As near as I can tell the z83 shocks are about an inch shorter than what's on the truck now. Could I put the shorter shocks on? Will they fit? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't go with stock shocks. Throw a set of Bilsteins on there and call it a day.

Keep in mind you have the worst possible 1/2 ton truck configuration for a good ride. The short wheelbase tends to exacerbate fluctuations in the road surface.

With that being said, the truck can still ride decently with the right shocks. It just may never be a Cadillac in the ride department.

Shocks don't give you a ride comfort ....... They take up spring osolations ... That's their job ONLY ... Sorry
