2006 GMC Canyon, Performance Upgrades

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I wanted to pick your brains on what performance upgrades I can do myself to my Canyon to give it a bit more hp and torque.

Been thinking exhaust systems/ air intake. I really know very little as I am new to trucks after just moving to Florida from the United Kingdom.

I am about to fit new spark plugs and coils as the engine has a misfire. Its still got a lot of push for a 4 cylinder. 2.8L is a big engine by English standards!

The engine has 131,000 miles on it but its in pretty good condition, at least thats what the mechanic tells me.

Any ideas and info would be greatly appreciated

All the best

Jack.

Unless you like the sound of the loud, fatty exhaust, I would leave the factory exhaust on. I guess you could put an intake kit on but not sure that's going to help either. If you could find someone to custom tune the truck, then that would be your best shot at squeezing the most power out of that truck. Another option is to custom turbo charge the truck but that would be very expensive.
