2014 Silverado 9" Lift On 37s - Review + Pictures

Recommended Posts

Thank you for posting this I have been looking for a lift for my 2015 GMC1500 4x4, for a coupe weeks and have been thinking about the McGaughys 7-9" suspension lift kit, and upgrading to the Bilsteins. I called the company and was told that the kit it a complete bolt on and requires no cutting like most of the other kits. To help with towing I was thinking about eventually upgrading the rear leaf springs and taking out the lift blocks.

What kind of offset do you have?

Looks great. I am very curious to see how the front end of these trucks holds up with 37s on it.

NNBS Silverado's have been rolling on 37's for almost a decade with just the typical wear and tear you see with any lift and 37's. You will go through some front end parts faster than stock but you would do that with 35's also. As always regearing will help with the rotational mass but these things are beefy.

I did see a 2014 last week with the bulletproof 12" and 40's, looked sick but that does concern me on stock axles...lol

I am not knocking your truck or lift, just curious to see how it holds up. My interest stems from my Tundra. I had a 8" lift with 37" toyos and couldn't get it to hold an alignment and it would just chew tires up and I had to throw it on the rack and align it every other month. The 37s were just too much for the IFS. My personal opinion is that 35's are max on an IFS truck.

Didn't take it as a knock at all! In my experience the alignment issue has to do 100% with the angles and specific lift kit. I have run 37's on older and newer F-150's and I only noticed alignment issues with cheap kits that didn't keep good angles or trying to max out your angles to far. For me, anything over 2" above the actual cross member drop is a no go. This kit uses the 7" full drop with 9" shocks which keep the angles right at the maximum safe zone in my opinion. I have seen the angles on this kit and they are obviously not stock at 9" like mine is at 6 right now but they are certainly in the good range that keeps alignment solid and doesn't overly abuse the front components.

Plus, you are talking about a Tundra, come on :rollin: .....just a joke...lol

Nice truck mikemjohnson I have a similar set up but 4x4 and I love it. The Mcgaughys suspesion is by far one the better lifts on the market and well designed.

Here is mine with 35s on 22x12s with the front set at 9" 3c6df109e3c9faf03583d8e4aba4dd6b.jpg

Can you post more pics of your truck
